Decided to scrap the "why the fuck not" part of the annual Spartan Hockey thread title tradition started by WBH a couple of years ago. All it did was get Danton Cole fired. So this is a fresh start under Adam Nightingale.

IDK, I think the goal this season is don't be embarrassing. As in, losing 15 of your last 16 games.

Went to BGSU last night for the back end of the home and home weekend and left with a 2-1 victory giving Nightingale his 1st as MSU HC.

So this is a late report after being out in the woods for a long weekend, but the Spartan Icers split with UMass-Lowell, winning Thursday's game 4-3 on a penalty shot before dropping Friday's game 3-2.

Okay, I see what they are saying. I’ve never seen it expressed that way in other sports.

Yeah, it takes awhile to get used to the way they classify recruiting in college hockey.

There’s math involved, which is why Spartan hockey will never be my favorite of the four primary rev sports.

B1G series on the road in South Bend Friday and Saturday nights. Notre Dame is 3-2-1 on the season, 3-0 at home.

They lost their season opener at Denver. Their last two series were a home sweep of Northern Michigan by scores of 5-4 and 3-1 and then splitting the home and home against Western Michigan, shutting out the Broncos 2-0 at home before getting shut out 4-0 in Kalamazoo.

SOW last night after a 1-1 end in regulation earned 1 point on the weekend in South Bend after a dismal 5-0 blanking Friday night. Record stands at 4-3-1 on the season. Next weekend is a timely visit from the 2-6 Badgers, who dropped a pair against PSU in the Kohl Center this weekend 1-2 and 0-4.
