I was surprised LSU was so susceptible to the long passes to a player under the basket while LSU was getting down the court.
I disagree.
Clark has a hell of a game and I thought Iowa’s coach Bluder out coached Mulkey although LSU had more athletes.
I disagree. Flau’jae Johnson was probably the best athlete with Clark a close second. The rest I didn’t see a significant difference at all.

I think if LSU would’ve used their athleticism more and pressed Iowa, we’re talking about a different game
Neither team is deep. Putting Van Lith on Clark was dumb. I would have changed up defenses on Clark. Box and one. Triangle and two.

Re: Caitlin Clark
Clark’s has been fortunate to avoid injury and has been able to play every game since she’s been at Iowa.
Bueckers was the #1 recruit in the country chose UConn and had a great 1st year but since had surgery on an ankle, injured a knee in her sophomore season then injured the other knee.
With no injuries maybe Bueckers is getting the buzz but Clark stayed at home instead of choosing a national power like UConn that’s won 10-11 Nattys .

Straight line and three is also a good option, as is point and four. Just don't go pentagon and zero. Cleveland State tried that and Caitlin went off for 38.

For the record, these women could always play the game and do it well. of course physiologically there will always be a difference, but shame on all of us for not watching these great athletes.
My eyes were opened, my daughter’s freshman year. Besides cheering for football or basketball., the freshman had to do the two other sports also like wrestling and volleyball. So when we could my wife and I would go to the volleyball games.. I have to tell you, those women were tall, athletic and lickety-split quick. When you were in the front row, they actually were quite intimidating.
Clark might not be the greatest of all time, but she helped bring eyes to women’s sports. And for that, she should always be remembered..

Geno ( who looks like Bobby flay) is not going to let Clark shoot from deep. Her teammates have to step up

Clark 0-6 from behind the line. Gotta figure she'll get some traction at some point, but UConn ain't going away quietly.

I've been in an out the game. Seems like UConn is doing a good job denying Clark the ball. Since she is such a good passer, denying her the ball is the only real strategy. Easier said than done though.

UConn’s Edwards did commit a foul when she screened one defender then moved her feet to screen another in an effort to get Bueckers an open shot on the right wing.
UConn beat Iowa in every category except offensive and defensive rebounds, committing personal fouls and scoreboard.

it was ballsy to make that call at such a crucial point, but it was the right call.to make.
Championship game tomorrow will be a lot of fun. I suspect South Carolina should win, but Iowa is gonna make it interesting.
The women's selection committee and the network are getting the game they wanted (along with the Elite 8 game they wanted in LSU vs Iowa).

Agree. Her feet were spread out and moving. She leaned in and dropped a shoulder/elbow. The only thing controversial about the call was the timing. Blatant moving screen

I have seen late game blatant fouls not called in the NCAA in close games, not sure why, though.
The contact allowed in the modern college game is why I only listen on the radio, where I can pretend that contact isn't happening.
Re: Caitlin Clark
Yeah, I don't get that logic. So do you not call traveling in the last seconds? Or a clear foul on a shot? Or not give a technical if someone calls a timeout when they don't have any left? (UM fans need not answer that last one)DWags wrote:If your argument this morning is: “well it was a foul but you don’t call that foul a foul at that particular time@. If they don't call that and UConn win, Iowa have been screwed.

Yeah. It was a foul for sure. They kept showing an angle which made it (maybe) not look like a blatant foul, but other angles showed how bad it was.
It was worse than one of the ones that Mady always got called for once a game.
And Iowa was switching anyway, as most teams would do late in the game.
