Well, slap a label on him that says RIP.
Yeah, even dead, he can fuck right off.

Great story about the $2 bills
And the Ebert quote was spot on. I loved when Walsh popped up in a movie. It was almost always a surprise because his name usually wasn't part of the marketing. And when it was a surprise, it was always a pleasant one. Damn, he must have had some great stories.

Re: tOfficial 2024 Celebrity/Notable Deaths Thread
I've seen this movie probably a gazillion times and just learned this (TIL material?) - when doing the 'first salute', new officers go to their gunnery sergeant and hand them a silver dollar. Apparently this is a real Navy tradition for newly commissioned officers.
if you watch, Foley puts each coin into his left pocket and salutes them. Tradition states that the gunnery sergeant puts the silver dollar coin for his favorite new officer into his right pocket.. and, you guessed it, it's Zach Mayo.
man.. that's some cool stuff that I never noticed before.

He was the reason that the public option was stripped from the Affordable Care Act and still claimed WMDs were in Iraq 8 years after the invasion.

That's pretty harsh, but I can't disagree. He raked in cash from insurance companies and fucked us out of a chance at buying the same government coverage he got for free.

Could be, but the dude represented the worst of what Washington politicians are. When people say they don't trust elected officials, it's because of officials like Lieberman. I could actually use much harsher words to say what I think of him, but I might get a time out if I did.

Damn. Dude lived a long life...good for him. My grandpa joined the Navy shortly after Pearl Harbor because he lost a friend on the Arizona. Sucks to know that soon there won't be any WWII vets left.

I watched him play a couple times he was unbelievable. As an administrator in the Detroit area I knew a lot of athletic directors.. of course, I had no proof of this, but I had people telling me that he had quite a sizable bag if he chose Syracuse. Doesn’t make it true . Don’t wanna speak ill of the dead, he seemed like a nice kid who could really play.
