it's just an observation.

y'all are the big, tough, truck-drivin', gun-totin' patriots but you get your feelings hurt when some idiot like me just has an observation.

It's so wild to see man turn on man over the election.

The reality is that this system brought most of us no choice that we felt really good about.

It goes to show how powerless we all feel when we'd rather be angry with our fellow man for having different opinions than us than be angry with our leadership for giving us dogshit options.

Don't be a NPC sheep that just blindly follows their leadership. Leadership is broken and needs fixing. If that isn't obvious after Tuesday, then you'll never see it.

Biden should resign and give Kamala a month or so as President. Just think of all the trash piles of Donnie the Felon 47 merchandise that he would need to throw out and take a tax writeoff on.

TM, this is no longer just about differing opinions.  They ran an extremely dirty information war against us and characterized us broadly as the enemies within.  Its not easy to come back from that.  And in no way do Democrats need to "go high" in this regard any longer.  They named their fellow Americans as enemies of the state and those sick fucks cheered.  It's fucking on.

my observations have very little to do with the election. I've known who y'all were there whole time, long before the 2024 election.

I'm sorry if that upsets you. When it comes to pointing out the dangers people pose to America, women, the Constitution and democracy, I'm not overly concerned with providing them a safe space.

That's not my point. Fight as dirty as you think you can get away with. That's fine.

It's the differing opinions within the party that immediately get called out as "Oh you must support the racist, homophobic, bigoted christian sexual predator, convicted rapist and convicted felon" or getting called other names that is causing the party to fracture. This is no time to be splitting the party. I don't give a shit if you're pro Israel or Palestinian. I don't care if you're a full on Bernie Socialist or a economic moderate. We all need to work together to defeat the Pubs.

Oh, I'm sorry. Is he not homophobic? Or do you not care about the LGBTQ+ portion of his rhetoric? Do you have that nonsense you post trademarked? Did I get it wrong and now must be ousted from the party? Am I not a REAL Democrat? Maybe we should have purity and ideological tests?

oh, he's definitely homophobic, but I usually calculate that in with the "bigot" descriptor of your christian hero.

I was just trying to explain why your post may have taken a little extra longer to type out. You seemed a little stuck on that.

I already stated earlier basically this same sentiment as I said I may not like Cameron but I'm going to join with her now.  My singular opposition to her didn't cause this as that's not something that carries over to real life but philosophically speaking I will be more open to a wider range of left wing candidates depending on the situation.  At this point, the important thing is finding someone, anyone, that can excite and motivate people.  Be it a house or Senate race or the presidency in 2028. Need people with charisma that can work a crowd. I don't care if it's an AOC type, a trans, or Liz freaking Cheney turned a little liberal, if you can attract people to the cause you're in.

To be fair, Bob's not the one who is calling me a female as a form of insult. I don't really understand why I'm meant to be insulted by that, but Serenity is very committed to the bit.

Newsom isn’t further left. He’s been recently cracking down on some of the liberal horseshit like homeless camps and sanctuary cities. And he has the charisma that Harris lacked.

As a CA resident, this is correct. However, I'm skeptical of running another Californian. Seems to be blackmark for a nationwide general election.

Perhaps you never said you don't like him in so many words. You called him a fiscal conservative or some such, though, and I don't imagine that's the sort of thing you would say about someone you like.

I was referring to his word “chick”. So, who is your very early pick for President next time. Not who you think will win, who you prefer.

Off the top of my head? Ro Khanna. Trapper doesn't like him, so he must be good.
I don’t know much about him. But another Californian doesn’t seem wise.

That is probably a fair point, I put virtually no thought into it. Someone substantially similar to him would be my preference.

To be fair, Bob's not the one who is calling me a female as a form of insult. I don't really understand why I'm meant to be insulted by that, but Serenity is very committed to the bit.

I've never called you a female as an insult. Not once.

So what you're saying is newsome, other than being from California may be a decent candidate as someone that if you listen to him and look at what he's done, possibly could convince some independents in the middle that he's not some radical left hippy. Of course the right would try to define him that way but that's always going to happen.

As Penn said, he does a pretty good toeing the line between being a moderate D and a progressive D. He's moderate enough for moderates and a progressive enough for progressives.

But he can come off as a smug elitist coastal Californian, and I say that as a Michigander turned Californian. Right now the Dems are mainly appealing to upper middle class, non-religious, college/advanced degree educated people. Not sure Newsom is the dude to try and buck that trend.

Cam reads The New Yorker, which probably makes him the smartest person here. So, stop picking on him/her. They. Whatever.

I occasionally come across New Yorker articles. I do not read it regularly. I am the smartest person here. My pronouns are he/him.

thought it was obvious, I thought you were a girl.  The first time i said it you even confirmed it with something you said.

It helps that the only cameron in my life is a girl.

It's a little strange that your pre-conceptions lead you to think i was insulting you by referring to you as a female.  Why is that exactly?  Being a female is not at all insulting so i am at a loss.  I was never mean about it or anything.  Sure i trashed you for your outrageous statements but that has nothing do with sex.

Like i said, i'm virtually shaking hands now though.  Granted this banter is utterly meaningless on the big scale, but i'm not going to divide anymore and we have to build a coalition if we want to have a country.  It's not that I ever opposed your view necessarily, it's just i thought you weren't being aware of the true nature of the stuff you read and making snap judgements on that manipulated information.  I'm pretty left wing.  And now I'm even more so because after they called us all enemies of the state and now i see idiots all over facebook demanding that we respect them now, it's fucking on.  You don't get to say that and demand respect or call for civility.  They did this, they knew they were doing it. Today i noticed some people that had those huge obnoxious trump flags had replaced them with American flags, no, no, you don't get to do what you did and remain a true american. It's fucking on.  We need to oppose their politics by any means necessary.  To me, that means get your god damn claws out democratic party, update your dumb strategy, win back ASAP, pack the fucking court the first chance we get and restore sanity, undoing all the crap they are going to do.  It might start a never ending cycle of escalation, but that's happening anyways.  Fuck it, they'll pack it back at some point but better to have sanity half the time then no time.
