We, the 99%, were in big trouble when the Republicans used their train wreak economy in 2009 to gerrymander the states and take the US House with a minority of the people's votes.

It only became worse from there.

Now that they own the courts, the Presidency and the Congress have really limited power to help the 99% and almost unlimited power, if they are Republican run, to hand everything over to the 1%, which has been the goal of people like the Kochs for the last 60 years.

I can only tell you to do one thing, and it will not work because there are too many people who should believe, and do not. That one thing is to vote for only Democratic candidates.

You seem incredibly passionate about all of this, but...you want someone else to fight for you? To do what exactly?

Here's my 2 cents...I could be wrong...your life wasn't impacted that much when Trump was President...or when Biden was President...or when Obama was President...it just wasn't. The President doesn't have that much of an impact on anyone's day to day life. I mean...it does if you let it from a mental perspective I guess. But financially? I doubt it.

Check out for a week from political nonsense. Find something else to do. And then evaluate if you missed anything...if you really missed anything. If your life is going to be negatively impacted that much by who is President, then look for other options.

Maybe that's a selfish way to look at it. I don't know.

Imploring someone else to fight for you is a cop out, in my opinion. But, I could be an asshole.

This is a new age, we can't just do the right thing and expect to win.  We can't play by the old rules.  We need to relentlessly pressure our side to join the correct battle, we need mass influence campaigns (don't take that negatively, these can be truthful and positive).  and we need them now.  You can help pressure our politicians for that.  If we don't, we will be ceding the proverbial airwaves to the Republicans and their foreign allies willing to fill the space. We need new strategies to actually reach new people.  This is part of that but I can think of a bunch of different ways.  The number 1 thing is the mid term campaign should start today.

My life will personally be impacted by trump s tariffs policy, and not in the higher prices paid kind of way. I am NOT looking forward to all the freak outs I'm gonna get in my job which takes place as part of the automotive supply chain, I oversee pricing on components from all over the world. There's going to be much strife about pricing I'm going to have to deal with.

Second, I never said I wouldn't fight, but I will be far from the most effective fighter due to my personal baggage (family). A retired old dude can do so much more than I can and in so many ways with zero repercussion whereas a lot of that stuff I would have to worry about harming my family.

I'm checked out a lot more than I was, but still I can't help but doom scroll on occasions.
