I agree, I think he is a goner, but don't understand why he didn't just put the hammer down on Rice to begin with. Rice wasn't close to being the face of the league he was RB barely holding onto his job.

It just doesn't make any sense how the handling of this could be so butchered.

I wonder if they were afraid of a lawsuit if they made a ruling based on a video that they legally didn't have a right to see?

This. And fergodsakes who the hell is running their PR team to advise him on stuff like this. You can't try to sweep these things under the carpet and come out smelling like a rose.

I'd even make the argument that if Rice was among the faces of the league, all the more reason to suspend him (if the evidence supports it) and send a clear message.
