Hoke releases statement on Shane

“The safety of our student-athletes is always our top priority. We generally never discuss the specifics of a student-athlete's medical care, but Shane Morris was removed from yesterday’s game against Minnesota after further aggravating an injury to his leg that he sustained earlier in the contest. He was evaluated by our experienced athletic trainers and team physicians, and we're confident proper medical decisions were made. The University of Michigan has a distinguished group of Certified Athletic Trainers and team physicians who are responsible for determining whether or not a player is physically able to play. Our coaches have no influence or authority to make determinations if or when an injured player returns to competition. The health and welfare of our student-athletes is and will continue to be a top priority.”

So...if he was removed from the game and hurt, why did you let him go back in?

When questioned he will just say 'I addressed that in my written statement'
then try to hide behind HIPPA or the Magna Carta to claim he can't say anything else on the subject..

And whoever wrote that piece should have dumbed it down enough so that it would be believable that it's Hoke's words. Anyone that has seen him speak knows that those aren't his words.

Wow. I thought it was bad when I watched the game but didn't know it had blown up like this until now. And after watching the video I see why.
Tomorrow might very well be "I don't know" for Hoke. Either that or he is going to be completely honest and break down crying.
I would say it is 50/50 he survives this week.

I'd say it's 99% he'll survive the week. But his fate after the season has already been sealed. He's gone.

Well that's great, you sent a kid out there to get murdered. A QB's first and most effective way to defend himself is with his feet. Morris couldn't use his but ya kept running him out there. Pretty much a given he was going to get lit up at some point. Well done Hoke, well done. From what I could see Gardner was walking around not involved in what was going on, in the field. Great team there.

If Michigan really cared About student athletes they would have fired those who covered up a rape years ago. They don't. They are ped state part 2

He only mentions the leg injury? The kid clearly sustained a head injury, even if it wasn't a concussion. This is one of the few times (very, very few) I'll agree with something from the Michigan Daily. Rivals or not, no kid deserves that.

Those writers are idiots, all four of them. Hoke is clearly an excellent coach, and Brandon would be a fool to let him go. Don't listen to them, Dave.

as a graduate of MSU, I am very proud that we can all come together and support this young man. The concern we have for him is nothing short of heart-warming.

anyone with a UM ID - there is a petition on-line to fire Pizza boy, supposedly the names are public as to who is signing but the catch is you need a UM ID to log in and sign the petition. FWIW - there are currently 2236 signatures (or so the webpages says)
