They should have cancelled Hoke's press conference until this was released, or at least filled Hoke in on what was in the report so he didn't have to go out there alone and essentially lie out of ignorance.

There wasn't anything in that statement that anyone who saw the game couldn't have figured out - there was a serious lack of communication between the staff, trainers and doctors. And Hoke could have eliminated much of confusion by just wearing a headset, like every other coach at every level does.

Hoke is getting fired. Either now or in 2 months. Don't delay the inevitable, but now they're just hanging him out to dry. Brandon should look in the mirror and fire himself after this latest fiasco.

Releasing the statement at 1AM is the most curious PR move ever. The hits just keep on coming.

Apparently the UM sidelines embraced charades as their means of communication.  In Brandon's, "yeah, yeah that's it....missed communications" story, the medical staff tried to play without seeing Morris who was acting out the charade.  The medical staff said the "stumble" was due to the ankle sprain......but admittedly didn't see Morris' act.  I think I'd be working on a mental instability defense.

This is now so messed up it is hard to even comment but just let the absurdity of it all stand on its own.

I can actually somewhat buy the commucommunication problems during the game. That was just a few minutes and they screwed up.
But to extend it for two more days and put Hoke in front of the media when it was already a national story?
The only theories I can come up with is
that they hoped the doctors would cover it up. Or they knew they wouldn't and purposely through Hoke under the bus.

It's all inept damage control BS. Anyone could have called a TO. Seemingly everyone was on the same page not to do it and to keep the game moving including using Morris, already limping to do it. Players are not of character or conscience to help one another. The sidelines are in a panic equaling being lost. They react only to the game. They're scared and disjointed making irrational decisions. Their fragility will sustain more mistakes until the ashes quit smoldering.

You'll never convince me that @ 30-7 in the fourth quarter Hoke knew the game was over. He had an ineffective QB in the game, now add the fact he was immobile. How is Gardner not a better option? Heres why. Hoke wasn't going to risk getting his other starter injured as well. As long as Morris could stand on his own two feet, he was finishing that game. He was a sacrificial lamb.

While talking with the media today, Brian Kelly explained the ND policies on player safety. ND has a spotter in the press box who communicates to the medical staff on when a player may need to be checked out. ND medical staff have full authority on removing players from games.

He offered to talk with Hoke and Brandon about protocols to ensure that UM never endangers a player again.
