What kind of sushi is the best?

I'm a huge sushi fan, and I could eat it every day. Going somewhere during lunch time is a good way to try all kinds of rolls without spending too much. I have been to many sushi places all over the US, and my favorite place is still in East Lansing at Sansu. They have a ton of options, and their rolls are bigger than most places for the same price. I myself do not like anything with cream cheese in it, as I think it ruins the flavor of the roll. However, most people enjoy those type of rolls. I like a mixture of raw and cooked rolls. I love anything with eel in it (no pun intended).

Went to Holiday Market in RO to see if they had any Hopslam.  Guy said they got a pallet of it on Wednesday and it sold out in 2 hours and said they're not getting anymore,  Picked up a slab of their smokehouse St.Louis ribs and headed home.

Trip wasn't a total loss.  Stopped at Noble Fish and picked up $130 of sushi and sashimi. Guy that owns my corner beer store loves Noble Fish and told me to pick some up for him whenever I go there.  Brought him $75 worth a little while ago.  Said he gets his shipment of Hopslam on Monday and will save some for me.

I have never been to Noble, but I've been on a sushi kick lately. I usually just pick up a couple of packages from Nino's or Fresh Thyme because I like carryout and it's difficult to find menus online for a lot of local places. I will try it out this week.

My problem is I like spicy shit but I loathe mayo. Don't know which places use mayo in their spicy rolls and which ones don't. I guess I will stick to traditional and just spice it up with Wasabi.

Fuck. I'm hungry, now I want sushi.

Kroger has a fucking sushi chef. Metro and Crocker. WTF is wrong with us.

I don't dig any of the offerings at Kroger. Most have some sort of creamy sauce involved which makes me want to puke. There's also a Cali or Vegi roll but I need my protein.

No self-respecting sushi place would put mayo in a roll.

Pay attention...the sushi sold at Nino's is made by Mon Jin Lau. Kinda weird. Mon Jin Lau has been there a long time. Forget exactly but it may have been there even when the Troy drive-in theater existed next to I-75. Have never set foot in the place.

Looks like it's kewpie, which is creamier mayo. No thanks.

Wouldn't advise eating normal store-bought shrimp raw but it was delicious
