Kidney stones suck

I'm not sure anything more needs to be said about the subject. I am passing some stones again and thought it was time for this thread to be started over here.

I'm in a similar boar as Gator Bill. I'm getting used to having them which is not good. I had several large ones about 1-1/2 years ago and had surgery. I passed some 6 weeks ago and a CT scan last week found another one that appears to be passing....now. Fortunately I have meds on hand for this.   

Happened to me once 8 years ago, was shaped like a knife blade, nothing relieved the back pain or "stomach" pain, entire back at one point seized up, only injury in my life that made me shed tears (I've snapped my leg in half and limped off court, knocked shoulder 4 inches down on brick wall and walked out of gym). The pain is beyond description, and watching that stone come out of the hole was like Alien.

the only thing that made it ok for me was the morphine. been almost 7 yrs and have stay religiously hydrated ever since.

I remember my dad getting them often. My dad was a major hard ass, he was a sniper in Nam, and still died on active duty. He would be screaming in agony, and crying for hours while passing a kidney stone. It was like watching someone being tortured.

I take pain meds and mix them with bourbon so I won't be screaming in pain but it does hurt quite a bit. Last year was a lot worse and I've learned the secret to passing them.

No, that would be a welcome feeling. It is pain with no equal. Have been burned badly 3 times, punched, kicked, hit by a car on a bike, broke many bones, dislocations...and all pale in comparison from a pain perspective. Can't even describe the sensation, is nothing to compare it to.

And BTW, I used to drink tea every day. Looked into it, that was a factor. I cut back on tea, have not had one since.

Much much worse than childbirth. Had no pain meds during childbirth and that paled compared to the kidney stone. But as I said, morphine is a miracle drug!

If you didn't know, the pain isn't from passing the stone thru your member. The pain is passing it from your kidney to your bladder. Two stones in 18 months, none in 6 years, thank god.

I did hear that it is worse if you lay down and that moving around helps pass it sooner.
