Here is a list of my favorite music songs

I am notorious for hating music, but I don't really hate it. I just don't care about it, or ever listen to it. Because it is stupid.

But I thought I would make a thread here and list some music songs that I like or kind of like so that you all can appreciate them, as well. I mean, after all, if a guy who hates music songs actually likes these music songs, they must be catchy.

I'll start with these:

Thriller
The theme song to Greatest American Hero
Party in the USA
The Ghetto by Too $hort
Anything by Sinatra

I'll add more later.

Seriously that is a catchy motherfucking tune. It is so catchy that has elevated to my 5 year old's 3rd favorite song, behind Thriller and 'I Wish I was a little bit Taller" from Skee Low. Which reminds me, I have a new music song to add to the list.

I like some Blink 182. I like that song about the state looks down on sodomy. I also like that other one about All the...small things. Something....something.

I like Billy Joel.

Oh oh oh. I really like Lionel Richie. He is the fucking man. Commodores. Dancin on the Ceiling. Lionel might be one of the G.O.A.T. He is up there with MJ, but as documented here, I'm not really sure what to make of my feelings for MJ's music songs due to his bizarre and controversial accused history.

I once had front row center for David Bowie at the Palace and I reached up and broke two guitar strings on his lead guitarists axe. Adrian Belew (I think he's dead now???). Bowie looked down at us and asked over the mic "who broke my guitarists strings????".... I raised my hand and yelled something (I was drunk as balls, obv).... Bowie reached down and tried to pull me up on stage, but security pushed me back.

I'm not sure where that was going, but in hindsight, thank you security..... 90/10 that would have ended badly for me.

Sidenote: I just googled Adrian Belew, and he is still upright and taking nourishment!!! Good news for him!!!!

What the hell kind of person claims to hate music? Are you the spawn of Satan? Music is probably the best thing there is. It's in the top 3 along with pizza and weed.

This song should probably be one of the most popular and best loved songs in history:

One of my favorites that is fairly obscure - I attended a live show at the Pontiac Mission Shelter Outhouse for Zimbabwean's. They had a little known artist playing acoustic from Iceland. His name was Rijkavic Kyeltzovic and his voice was absolutely angelic. His lyrics were so true, I found myself flagellating my less than flacid member about 30 seconds into this songbird's hymn. It was truly an other-worldly experience. In 3/4 time no less.

There was one time, back in 2008 when I went to a VFW hall. I think the guy who booked that hall on the weekends was into the reefer, if you know what I mean. At any rate, you brought in a magnificent alto sax player, straight out of New Orleans. At least he smelled like it. He got hot and heavy with one of the female sponsor's grandmother's pretty quickly, but at any rate. I could just close my eyes and envision myself floating in the clouds to this dude's alto sax. After I popped 3 or 4 dozen ibuprofen, that is.

Anyway, you guys should check him out. He was totally amazing.

What kind of music speaks to you, though, brother? I mean, what kind of artist makes you bare your soul for all of the message board universe to see? Is it N Sync? Bieber? Soul Asylum? Who do you connect with?

For me, I would have to say there is no harsher reality than the truth that the Geto Boys preach. I really feel Bushwick Bill's pain in his lyrics. Scarface really made me ponder the playground scene in Farmington Hills growing up.

That is why I would put the Geto Boys at the top of my list. Man, those dudes were whimsical.
