Harbaugh's right hand man arrested for drunk driving
Things are straightening right up under the savior.......
U-M Director of Football Operations arrested on suspicion of DUI
The University of Michigan's director of football operations was arrested for DUI in Pittsfield Twp.
Jim Minick was arrested Saturday morning around 2:30. Police in Pittsfield Twp say he was arrested at Airport Blvd. and State Street.
Police said they were called to the intersection on a report of a single-car crash. According to police, Minick told them that another car went into his lane and he swerved to avoid it and crashed into a ditch. He told police the other car drove off and did not hit his 2015 GMC Yukon.
Police said they believed Minick had been drinking and they asked him to take a breathalyzer. He refused and police said they drew blood and arrested him. He has not been charged and police say it will take up to another week to get toxicology results back.

Remember this the next time someone from Ann Arbaugh mouths off about punishments....
3 weeks for drunk driving.
Michigan associate director of athletics Jim Minick has returned to the football program after his indefinite suspension on a May 9 arrest on suspicion of drunken driving.
Jim is back working in the program," Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh said this evening at the Montgomery Prattville Marriott prior to serving as the keynote speaker at the A+ Banquet to benefit the Autauga Education Foundation.
Harbaugh suspended Minick on May 13, saying in a statement that Minick made "a regettable decision".

He's already been suspended longer. I read somewhere speculation that he'd be suspended until the B1G Ten season. We'll see....

Which report says that Williams pointed a gun at someone? It would be a new one.
The man told police Williams slowed down, rolled down his window and yelled, "You got a problem (expletive)?" The man said Williams then pulled out a gun — for which he has a concealed weapons permit — and waved it around the inside of the car, though he did not point it. wrote:

Looks like the blood tests came back with a problem # for him:
UM's Jim Minick charged with operating while intoxicated
UM's Jim Minick charged with operating while intoxicated
Michigan associate athletic director for football Jim Minick faces a charge of operating while intoxicated and is scheduled for arraignment on July 1 at 1:30 p.m., according to court records.
The arraignment for Minick, 51, will be at the 14A-1 District Court in Ann Arbor in front of judge Richard E. Conlin.
Minick, hired by new Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh, was arrested in Pittsfield Township on May 9 on suspicion of drunken driving. He was suspended by Harbaugh after the incident but was reinstated last week.
The arrest followed a single-vehicle crash; Minick said he crashed after another vehicle cut him off. The other vehicle left the scene.
Minick refused a Breathalyzer, Gordy Schick, Pittsfield Township Deputy Police Chief, told The Detroit News at the time.
Shick told The Detroit News last week that Minick's blood results had been returned and submitted to the Washtenaw County prosecutor's office.

Police report: U-M's Jim Minick unbalanced, uncooperative during drunk driving arrest
ANN ARBOR -- A night out at a downtown Ann Arbor restaurant led to a long morning in police custody for Jim Minick.
According to a police report, Minick's May 8 arrest at 2:30 a.m. for suspicion of drunken driving saw Michigan's associate athletic director for football unable to perform basic sobriety tests, leaving the arresting officer worried for Minick's own safety.
Later, at roughly 5 a.m., while having blood drawn at St. Joseph Hospital after refusing a field breathalyzer test, an unruly and uncooperative Minick had to be restrained by security so a sample could be drawn.
Minick's police report was obtained Monday by MLive via a public records request.
Minick, 50, pleaded guilty last Wednesday to a charge of operation a vehicle while intoxicated and refusing a breathalyzer test. He appeared in Ann Arbor's 14A-1 District Court and received eight months of probation and a fine of $1,325.
Arrested on May 8 by Pittsfield Township police, Minick was determined by state police to have a 0.185 blood-alcohol content on the night of the incident. The state limit is 0.08.
Minick was suspended "indefinitely" on May 13 by U-M head coach Jim Harbaugh, his longtime friend. Minick, a retired U.S. Marine Corps colonel, has since been reinstated.

Sentence sounds really light for someone that was obviously well over the 'super drunk' limit of .17 at the time of his arrest, as well as uncooperative.

That is light, but it sounds like he may have plead to a regular OWI b/f the blood results came back (b/f the prosecutor could amend the charge to super drunk). Most courts, for a regular OWI, give 12 mo probation.

Doesn't refusal of a breathalyzer mean having your license revoked for a year?

Yep, unless he asks for a hearing w/Sec of State and his atty gets the officer to withdraw.
The plea to the refusal the article mentioned is probably for refusing the PBT which is only a civil infraction. The test at the jail (DataMaster) is the one you don't want to refuse (for the reason you noted).

There was enough error margin in the blood test that the prosecutor decided not to go after the super drunk.

No, blood tests are more accurate and reliable than breath tests. It was either negotiated that he could plead to the lesser OWI, or they just plead him early, before the results came back.
