Indianapolis targets
Five-star prospects Paul Scruggs and Kris Wilkes will visit Michigan State for the Spartans’ game against Rutgers on Sunday.
Scruggs and Wilkes are friends and AAU teammates from Indianapolis and have taken several recruiting trips together, including one to UK last summer. Both players are in the class of 2017.
Wilkes — a 6-foot-7 small forward — is ranked by Rivals as the No. 10 overall prospect in the junior class and also visited UK for Big Blue Madness in October. Maryland is expected to watch Wilkes play Saturday night.
Scruggs — a 6-4 guard — is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 19 junior in the country and was in Rupp Arena for Wednesday night’s victory over Missouri.
UK assistant coach Tony Barbee has watched both players this month.

http://www.burntorangenation.com/2016/6/1/11828088/texas-longhorns-basketball-recruiting-2017-charles-obannon-matt-colemanTexas offered Jordan Goodwin, a four-star Althoff Catholic (Ill.) shooting guard in April, but there's been little noise to indicate the Longhorns are a legitimate option. Goodwin's offer list is becoming increasingly impressive, with Texas A&M and Michigan State recently jumping into the mix, but Goodwin's projected to remain home and play for Illinois.
https://spartanavenue.com/2016/06/01/michigan-state-recruiting-5-bold-predictions-for-june/By this time last year, Nick Ward had already been committed for a couple of months and the staff was about to add five-star combo-guard Josh Langford to the 2016 class. However, the 2017 group has been relatively quiet, but that might just be the calm before the storm.
Must Read: Michigan State Recruiting: Constructing the ideal 2017 basketball class
No one really knows how many scholarships will be available for the 2017 class, but it could be upwards of six or seven. Alvin Ellis, Gavin Schilling, Ben Carter and Eron Harris will all be graduating while there’s still, at this point in time, a leftover scholarship from 2016. Add that to a potential one-and-done, or two, and the Spartans have some wiggle room.
There are a couple of guys who I believe the Spartans are relatively close to adding in the 2017 recruiting class. Four-star big man Malik Williams, four-star point guard Nojel Eastern and five-star small forward Brian Bowen are all high on the Spartans and a trio who could pull the trigger at any time.
While my bold prediction is for one 2017 commitment this month, there could realistically be two or three, depending on if they can get to campus for a quick June visit. Last year, Josh Langford was a bit of a surprise because he took a multi-day visit and fell in love, giving his verbal to Izzo during the visit only to reveal the news later.
Heck, even guys like Isaiah Livers, Paul Scruggs or Kyle Young could commit any time.
My prediction, though: Malik Williams or Nojel Eastern.

• Paul Scruggs, a Southport senior-to-be and one of the top 2017 players nationally, visited Louisville this week. Scruggs, ranked No. 27 nationally in the 247Sports composite, already has an offer from Louisville. His Indy Hoosiers coach, Mike Peterson, said Scruggs will visit Illinois, Indiana, Michigan State and Xavier soon. Scruggs also has offers from those four schools. He’ll play in the IndyStar Indiana All-Star exhibition games next week (Tuesday at Bloomington South and Thursday at Lebanon).

Re: tOfficial MSU Basketball Recruiting Thread: Class of 2017
Goodwin and Flagg seem like the most reasonable targets at this point. Northwestern has offered local stars Nojel Eastern (Evanston Township) and Justin Smith (Adlai Stevenson), but both have offer lists that will be extremely difficult for NU to compete with. Eastern, a point guard and Junior U.S. National Team player, lives just five minutes from campus, but is leaning toward Tom Izzo's Spartans. A combo forward, Smith has offers from all over the map, including Wisconsin, Stanford, Florida State, Iowa State and Illinois, which is considered the favorite. Getting either would be an absolute coup for Collins and his program.

Re: tOfficial MSU Basketball Recruiting Thread: Class of 2017
The son of former Georgetown star and NBA player Jaren Jackson Sr., Jaren Jr. stands about 5 inches taller but is starting to show more of the perimeter skills that his father utilized as a 6-foot-4 guard. While Jackson is now operating off the dribble and shooting 3s with his 6-foot-9 frame, he is also protecting the rim on the defensive end and showing an excellent left hand around the cup offensively. His suitors include his father's alma mater, Michigan State, Maryland, Stanford, Indiana, Notre Dame and numerous others. With no decision expected in the near future, and as his game continues to go to new levels, that list will grow before it shrinks.
Also some talk about Brian Bowen.

Notably, IU has gone all-in on Southport guard Paul Scruggs and North Central forward Kris Wilkes. Those are IU's top two targets in this class, with Fort Wayne center Malik Williams also a priority as well as Park Tudor forward Jaren Jackson. Williams looks to be leaning toward Michigan State, while Scruggs and Wilkes have been taking visits elsewhere recently.
