Anyone have a good rabbit recipe?
I was out foraging amongst my Amish neighbors yesterday for some home grown fruits and veggies.
Got a peck of Rhubarb to freeze and some other fine produce. While there I noticed that all of them
must have decided there's now a market for rabbit meat. At least 3 farms are now selling dressed rabbit.
I haven't cooked any rabbit since I was a teenager so am a bit lost on what to do with them.
I plan to pick 3-4 up later this week to surprise my kids with a rare treat on Saturday, anyone here
with a tried and true recipe?

It's been awhile, but it has something to do with putting them in a frying pan with some oil, covering then in white wine, rosemary, salt and pepper and cooking until all of the wine has cooked off.
I'll have to look up the exact recipe later if you're interested. That's the bulk of it though.

One day I hope to have children that will genuinely enjoy being surprised with murder.

So, rabbits are only good on Saturday through Thursday, then.

Had a good orange juice marinade recipe but lost it a long time ago.
This one is close but the cooking time seems too long

I hunted rabbit in my teens. Brought dinner home all the time. Yet, I can't remember a single recipe. Mostly because I'm old, but also because my mom was/is a terrible cook and made very few memorable meals.

Geez, dude, that's kind of a mean thing to say out of the blue. I can play random insults, too: Your wife says your dick is too big for her, and that mine is perfectly underwhelming.
Didja get that? Perfectly underwhelming. I'm sorry you had to find out this way. Actual, I'm not.
Burn!

Those look damned good. I could see myself trying that just so I could serve them on platters w/o telling the daughters in law what we're eating. Let them speculate dog, cat or rabbit.......Brock Middlebrook wrote:Smoker

If you really wanted to surprise them, you should have served them rabbit on Easter.
