MSU was cheap back then so Saban left. Saban isn't the nicest guy. Plaxico is a great Spartan. I don't think any of this is new stuff.

Nick is a funny guy.

Basically says some of his players weren't focused (in the playoff) because they received NFL projections (before the game).

I like that Plaxico is calling a cfb coach out on their bs. What Nick did to that MSU team reminds me of that scene in The Royal Tenenbaums when Gene Hackman shoots his own kid with a bb gun and lets him know 'there are no teams' basically teaching his kid I'm out for myself.

In Saban's defense Plaxico did get up and spike the ball on a diving completion at the 40 yard line with the steelers. Other team recovered.

I know that doesn't defend Saban, but damn, it was funny.

Plax also caught the game winner in the Super Bowl. That doesn't defend Plax but damn, it was awesome!

Saban is very successful but is also obviously an asshole. Now there are people that say its the only way to do it but of course that's just their way of justifying being an asshole IMO.

Tell you something else about Plax. Came to an MSU camp I was coaching at and spoke to the kids forever. Spoke about the need to be on special teams and help out the team. Then hung out well after his buddies left to party. Ate with the kids in the Cafe. Left me with a great impression.

Did you guys show the campers his hit on uofm for an inside kick recovery??

Plax never struck me as a bad dude. Just an idiot at times. Kinda hope he gets into coaching....

No but when it came to questions and answers none of the kids started right away so I jumped in and asked him to take us through it. After he was done I told the kids this was an all American who wanted to be on special teams. Don't ever ask me to compare him to Rogers who was saving himself at the end of his last season.

Here's the deal with guys like that. He was Special Ed in high school. No way he shoudl have been in college, but, we got him in. (The ACT was interesting, I could say how but who the fuck would care). Anyway, every college has those kids. Kids whose physical gifts far out weigh their mental gifts. We all knowit, we hall have them. Maybe not Northwestern Stanford, or the service academies. that's it. So, why not just put them in special classes at school. Money classes, not gearing towards a major but basic money handling. Basic life circumstances that can help them function after they've played college ball for us.
