Orioles fans name their kids Camden and Yardley
Colleen and Tony Serra have attended every Orioles home opener together since 2010. When they were deciding on a name for their first child in October of that year, they wanted something that represented their shared love of baseball and Baltimore, where they met playing softball in 2009.
They named their boy Camden.
“Obviously, when you pick names for your kids you’re trying to think of things that are meaningful for both of you,” Colleen said. “We both grew up going to games. [Camden Yards] holds a special place in our hearts and it’s a place that we’re going to keep coming back to, so it just seemed fitting.”
The couple got engaged at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. They married in 2013 and held their wedding reception at the Camden Club inside the B&O Warehouse at Camden Yards. When they had their second child, a girl, this June, they doubled-down on the ballpark theme and named her Yardley.

Hmm, my kids are half asian. I should have named one Yan-Ki and another Mar-Win.

75% of all children and 50% of all dogs born in Alabama since 2007 are named after Nick Saban. And no one thinks that's strange.

Are the other 25 and 50 named after Bear Bryant, or is it 15 and 40 with the remaining names being dedicated to some idiot from Auburn?

Honestly, they should have named the girl "Natty" and the boy "Boh". That would have been better.Cym Jim wrote:Surprised she didn't call them Cake and Pie.

My son is Comerica and my daughter is Park. We're not even Korean, just big fans of baseball and banking in general.

I want a girl who loves baseball as much as I do, but that might be over-the-top.
Also, I think Camden sounds more feminine than masculine, but maybe I'm just messed up in how I perceive things.

My friends named themselves Natty and Boh for the charity wrestling event we put on in High School. No idea how Natty Boh is somehow popular back home now. We drank tons of that in High School because we couldn't afford to upgrade to the high end stuff like Bud or Miller Lite. Less than $6/case and no deposit in MD. Talking to my friends in the dorms, I came to the conclusion that Hamms was the Natty Boh of Michigan.
