You're thinking of pus.
And Blanchfest is tubing down a lazy river with beer this weekend. 10 or so going with

Re: Where should I move to?
You should really identify some graduate programs. Geography is important when considering grad school. You do not want to be stuck somewhere you hate. However, it should not be the primary driver.
I would say the geography issue is more true for doctorate programs, but even then it should not drive a decision. For your degree, you will likely be in and out in four semesters. That is a short amount of time. Look for programs suitable to what you want to achieve. Also, apply for funding. Do not think you have to pay for grad school. It is not only doctoral students that get funded. You might get a tuition scholarship thrown your way.

Hadn't driven up 127 from Lansing to Clare in over a decade. I did last year. Wow, the wind mills. Crazy sight

Go to Texas (Austin, San Antonio or Houston). Best job opportunities in the country, plenty of great food and beautiful women. You'll have to excuse the guns and racism though. If you're white you will love it.

Ohio and Indiana have a bunch too. They are kind of distracting.

Just wait till the politicians start trying to put those massive eyesores up and down Lake Michigan. No one gives afuck if the thumb or mid Michigan is littered with them. Farm landowners are getting paid to do nothing so they are all about them. It takes like 50 of them to power my damn tvs and fridge. Your government tax dollars at work folks.

Think they are paying around 10 grand a year to put em on your land. You'll be able to run a lantern or transistor radio off of one. But not at the same time.Other Teams Pursuing That wrote:I don't mind windmills. Can I just own one of those and live off that?

House, orchards, barns. Add a garden to sell produce, some poultry to sell eggs and meat, and a couple cows for milk, cheese and butter. The income would be pouring in as you provide high quality food to your friends and neighbors.
Get your hands into the soil my friend!!
This is it, the small farm opportunity you have been looking for!
The entire parcel of 8.24 acres is fully fenced, and contains pear, cherry, walnut, apricot, and apple trees.

Pretty much on the mark. Someplace simple in the country side. Enjoy the peace and the freedom of living on your terms. Get away from all of the consumerist pressures. Enjoy a craft that you can make something and be self reliant and make a living out of it. Furniture, art, clothes, BEER... I swear, if I could do that... I would be happy.

If your field is psychology, have you considered the east coast? Mass. or NYC both have plenty of schools and NYC has to be on of the largest populations that seeks out counseling. I bet 7 out of 10 people out here speak to a shrink.

EU? Rofl. This is 'murica!! Kids leave 60" inch flat screens on all day long. Doors open with the central ac going and dozens of electronic devices charging at once. multiple fridges per household, lights on all over the house during the day. I bet that central AC does not exist in 95% of EU.AnomanderRake wrote:"An average onshore wind turbine with a capacity of 2.5–3 MW can produce more than 6 million kWh in a year – enough to supply 1,500 average EU households with electricity."

People in the EU are in general just as retarded as they are here, except the Germans and Scandinavians.

Re: Where should I move to?
Honestly, go wherever you can get a job. That should be the priority, IMO.
But if I could pick any place in the country to go to, I would choose Philadelphia. The food scene there is amazing (Reading Terminal Market is heaven if you love good street food). The women aren't bad. Lots of sports and music, and you can easily get to Baltimore, DC, and NYC from there (I believe DC and NY there's trains straight there). With PSU, Rutgers and Maryland in the B1G and MSU in the East, you can see MSU play live once a year easily.
Other contenders for me would be Portland (it's amazing, but hard to find a job there because everyone loves it), Chicago, the Twin Cities, Baltimore, Atlanta, or Cincinnati. I've heard Cincinnati is on the rise and you get seasons without shitty winters, and it's close enough to regularly hit up MSU for football games.

If I could live anywhere in the us, I'd go to San Diego. Just crazy about the weather there. I know California has a drought that seems endless and it's expensive and far away but that sunshine and the California lifestyle appeal to me so much. Would love to be in southern California.
