It really sucks that Trump has failed at solving North Korea. It's been what? 75 days? Such an incompetent boob.

Nobody's blaming him for not solving Korea in his first 100 days.

The incompetent boob part sounds about right though.

And we can move this the Bin now.

The Art of the Deal guy has made some great deals lately. I'm sure he'll figure out this whole China/North Korea thing. No worries.

There was a Netflix movie about some guy from Central America who had some connection with N.Korea.

I think we would be seeing the same behavior from Dear Leader regardless of who won in November..

The frightening this is the 3rd generation dictator appears to have no compunction about killing those who he sees as a threat to him. He also is more daring threatening his neighbors and the US.

Best outcome would be for China to get tired of his shit and replace him with a more maleable North Korean China can control.

US cyber attacks may be bringing North Korean missiles down

Experts are suggesting the in-flight failure and crash of the missile launched by North Korea on Wednesday could have been the result of a "left-of-launch" attack by the United States.

Hilarious if true.

"Left-of-launch" strategies involve electromagnetic propagation or cyber attacks against missiles immediately after launch, including through infected electronics aboard the weapon that confuse its command and control or targeting systems.

We've come a long way since entering WWI 100 years ago.

Just allow Japan to fully militarize again. Those crazy fucks will have Kim Jong dead in 5 years. Japan was the ultimate warrior culture and they hate North Korea.

Missiles of North Korea

Interesting stuff. A lot of short range capability and a couple of designs capable of reaching the U.S.

Just don't think asking China to help with North Korea then tweeting if China can't get things done the US will go it alone 48 hours later while sending the Carl Vinson to the Korean peninsula is helping things.  Especially when North Korea is being led by a guy who had no compunction about sending an assassination team to kill his half brother on foreign soil and doesn't mind his people starving while he builds nuclear weapons.

We might be too far away from DPKR missiles, but not Russia's. Not sure if knocking out U.S. manufacturing would still be an objective in 2017, though.

Chinese hackers could do it more easily since nearly all of North Korea's advanced electronics and computers are imported through China.

Best part for them is they do the hacking and the US gets the blame. Best part for the US is taking the blame and China maintains its diplomatic relationship with North Korea.

Russia is a paper tiger with a nuclear arsenal.

Russia is also a paper tiger that controls at least 75% of the natural gas that goes to Europe.

You realize Putin is old school KGB who would love nothing more than to right the wrongs of late Soviet history? He might not do it with one grand slash, but he doesn't need to when a thousand cuts will bleed his enemy to death. He's already doing that. Your naïveté is startling.

Is that a right wing talking point? I've seen it from a few right wingers here and on other boards. Russia should not be trusted... ever. Also, they don't want to fuck with America propper as much as they want breathing room resources and friendly governments near them. Would we actually be willing to bail out countries in Europe and the Middle East if they became aggressive towards them? That would cost 100's of thousands of lives.

Somebody who they listen to definitely said that recently, probably on Friday, cause yeah it's suddenly a thing to say after several weeks/months of talking about Russia, it just now starts getting said. I'm not really interesting in debating (rush? That'd make sense. Some guy on fox? Maybe)'s talking points.

It'd be cool if one of them said where they heard that. But for whatever reason acting like every thought is 100% absolutely original instead of borrowed, inspired by, or influenced is some how a big deal in these conversations. I guess it's so they don't get called a sheep. I think it's silly but whatevs.

The catch is that even with VP Pence trying to imply a threat by pointing out recent missile and bomb attacks in Syria and Afghanistan respectively, the US doesn't have enough cruise missles and smart bombs to start an attack and stop North Korean regulars from attacking S. Korea at the DMZ and go towards Seoul thats 35 miles south.

Sincerely,
GRR Spartan, Chief of Inventory Control, All of the US Military

The may get to Seoul, but by then they will be begging for food and Pyongyang will be a parking lot occupied by the Chinese Army.
I trust there are at least a couple of somewhat sane people around Kim that would put a bullet in him before allowing that to happen.
Keeping North Korea is as important to China as South Korea is to us, and they're as tired of Kim's shit as everyone else.

Now it's insults IB?

You do realize there would be 1000's of casualties total and real possibility of the North Korean troops gaining 5-10 km of territory past the DMZ the would be another to negotiate for?

What's your option? Use nuclear? Do you realize the North Korean leadership that has had up to an estimated 50% of the population suffering from malnutrition is going to care about losing 50,000-100,000 troops in a response to the US launching a conventional weapons strike?

I still think the optimal solution is to stand down and give China 90-180 days to squeeze Dear Leader into negotiating.

It's one thing to launch cruise missiles and use a big bomb in countries with no nuclear weapons with both in the midst of civil wars with multiple factions,

North Korea has starved its population for more than 50 years to build a large standing army, a missile delivery system and nuclear capability. They aren't going to cower is response to VP Pence implied threats.

No worries. While Trump was announcing an "armada" was headed towards Korea, no one told the US Navy that had ordered the carrier group to Austrialia for manuvers.
Trump sounding tough while not knowing where a carrier group in the USN's Pacific fleet was headed.

In other new tough guy VP Pence was backtracking his talking and flipping to talking diplomacy.

It's my understanding that NK has a massive bomb shelter tunnel system under their capital that they would retreat to in the event of Nuclear War or an attack on Pyongyang That would certainly make things interesting. I wonder how long they could survive down there.

Relax...NK is crazy but not stupid enough to start a war with the US.

Donnie, on the other hand, is crazy and stupid enough to start a war with NK. And as I've said for months, he's just salivating at the idea of using nukes.

I'm hoping this is mostly hyperbole, Greenway. Trump is certainly a bit unhinged (show me a recent President that isn't, in some way), but nukes are light years beyond that.
Using leverage on China is what will make the difference. They can't afford the little dictator as much as us, and they certainly can't afford the USA putting him out of his misery instead of them. If he twitches they've got 150,000 troops on the border and, no doubt, an operative or two in Pyongyang that is capable of putting a bullet in Kim's oversized head.
