Good to know Coach D has been able to work his magic nationally. Pity he doesn't get more respect from his own.

I bet we fell in that idiot Jeff Seidel's vote.

You know Michigan fans are talking about how their loss to Utah is more meaningful than our win over Oregon. You know it.
That's because they're idiots

UM fans have to be pissed to see Oregon #25. This poll doesn't have much credibility.

So to answer this question completely, we went up one place in the Coaches and remained #2 in the AP.

Behind 5 one loss teams (including one at number one. I'll save you all the click, Alabama) and behind two 2-2 teams.

No, many from our fan base respect the team and understand what rankings are all about at this point. We've been screwed by the system beforehand. Many in our fan base get what this team is and what we might become. Many respect that about our program.
It's really only now and always have been the assholes who don't. Can't change them. We've played 4 games we've won all four. Some morons in our fan base would have us apologize for doing so.
Fuck them. Just win.

Bang! It's kind funny. A self admitted person who has said right on this forum he likes to rub it in to the general fan base to get reactions from them can't bitch about losses or Dantonio's program so he has to complain about a three touchdown victory.
To answer his foolish question.... Zero

Technically, we didn't drop 0, we dropped -1. Or, for the math challenged, we moved up a spot in one poll. I guess I'm just an old sunshine optimist.DWags wrote:GRR Spartan wrote:Another good week for the Spartans and another disappointing week for Vlad.

It might be a lot more accurate than you think. For instance, MSU opened a 27 point favorite to Purdue (now down to 24.5). The Sagarin rankings predict a 24 point victory.
That line movement also seems to indicate that the smart money was going big on Purdue.
It isn't always going to align that well but it is quite often close. Interestingly, Sagarin would now have UM as an 8 point favorite over MSU right now. I am not even sure who would be favored right now, but I am guessing the relative strength of the teams is a lot closer now based on what has occurred this season - despite what the human polls currently say.

Or like the playoff committee, the BCS rankings, the basketball commitee, professional gamblers.
I don't take his rankings as gospel though, especially early in the season. But it can offer a different perspective Truth be told, I hate basketball computer stuff for some reason. I think it is Pomroy people usually talk about. But there must be some value to that stuff as well. Mark Cuban hired Sagarin.

Here's the thing anyway, and it's not that complicated. Win all of our games, beat Ohio state, go to the playoff. Regardless of anything else. There's no realistic circumstance in which we do that and we don't go to the playoff. Dont win all of our games and don't win the big Ten and we don't go to the playoff. And we shouldn't.
The rest of this is just meaningless noise.

There is always that whole "what if we lose to someone stupid like Nebraska but go on to win out and still win the big Ten."
I'll cross that annoying argument bridge if we get to it though.

Agree, but how about this scenario: we lose to OSU and don't look all that impressive beating the others. Do we get in the playoffs with one loss and an otherwise lackluster performance throughout the season?
Too much football to be played yet to know the answer to that, I guess.
