Pistons honoree Chauncey Billups likes look of current team

Nearly a month after Ben Wallace had his night to remember, Chauncey Billups will get his.

Billups, the unquestioned leader of the Detroit Pistons’ 2004 championship team and MVP of the NBA Finals, will see his No. 1 jersey retired at halftime of tonight’s game at the Palace against the Denver Nuggets, another of his former teams.

I wouldn't worry too much Ass Dan. It's a long season. They should heal up over the break. Lots of teams are tired right now and with their short bench they're vulnerable. Team is in good hands with Stan Van Jeremy, Reggie and Andre.

Pretty good return for 2 guys with expiring contracts. Gives DET a very young core of guys that should continue to get better.

hurts short term. Bench is even more ass than before.

Just my opinion, but the deal is a coup for Pistons coach/general manager Stan Van Gundy, who is acquiring one of the league’s top young talents in exchange for a backup point guard (though in truth, Jennings would be a starter if not for Detroit’s acquisition of Reggie Jackson at the deadline a year ago) and a stretch 4 who is in the middle tier, at best, of the NBA’s stretch 4s.

DMo was pretty good last year when he was on the court. RFA this summer.

Obvious huge red flag is the bad back. Hardly played at all this year.

Not a huge fan of this trade, but I'm not a doctor and have no idea how bad his back really is. I'm just really skeptical of big guys with bad backs. Would rather the pick be lotto protected, not just top 8.
