Re: To cut costs, Flint poisons its residents with lead
THE EPA KNEW ABOUT FLINT MICHIGAN’S TOXIC WATER FOR MONTHS AND DIDN’T TELL ANYONE: “The EPA was looking into this almost a year ago but buried the topic in an internal food fight.” Naturally though, for the DNC-MSM, it’s still Republican Gov. Rick Snyder’s fault.
The EPA knew about Flint’s toxic water for months and didn’t tell anyone
As it turns out, people knew about the horrible water situation long before the Governor ever caught wind of it. And when you think of a government agency in the same sentence as a disaster in a water supply, who do you think of first? The Environmental Protection Agency, of course. As The Daily Caller found out, the EPA was looking into this almost a year ago but buried the topic in an internal food fight.
EPA official Susan Hedman did not publicize the EPA’s concern over Flint’s water quality or the water’s dangerous health concerns. The federal agency instead quietly fought with the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality for at least six months about what should be done.
EPA water expert, Miguel Del Toral, identified potential contamination problems with Flint’s drinking water last February and confirmed the suspicions in April. He authored an internal memo about the problem in June, according to documents obtained by Virginia Tech.
Meanwhile, Hedman became aware of the contamination issue in April. She sought legal advice, but didn’t receive the guidance until November 2014. The American Civil Liberties Union accused Hedman in October of attempting to keep Miguel Del Toral’s memo in-house, downplaying its significance.

Gov. Rick Snyder announced the number of cases of Legionnaires' disease has spiked in Genesee County in the two years since Flint switched its water supply from the Great Lakes to the Flint River.
But the increase cannot be directly attributed to the switch, said Nick Lyon, director of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. Not all the people who got Legionnaires' were exposed to Flint water, he said.

Its not Snyders fault. But he bears the responsibility. Much like a GM that makes horrible decisions

And Wyant from the DEQ for not telling him.
Wyant's been an incompetent boob for years though.

Typical. Pass blame around. Somebody needs to go to jail. Fuck Snyder for putting bean counters in charge who know nothing about public safety, fuck this Hedman. Fuck all of them.
Arrest them all. Put them all on trial. Pieces of shit. Nobody is blameless. WE ELECT THESE FUCKERS TO PROTECT US FIRST. THATS JOB ONE.

Yep.
And I don't feel bad at all for the heat Snyder is facing. He certainly deserves his share of the blame.
To make a sports analogy he's the head coach here, and when a team turns in a losing record the players deserve the blame but it's the head coach that gets fired.

The greatest thing about your butthurt over this is you know that unregulated, this type of situation would be the rule, not the exception. You'll never admit it, but I know you know it.

Butthurt? I enjoy this stuff, Roc... it's why I always show up like clockwork to put in my two cents. It's fun. You're projecting.
And no, I do not know that. It's hilarious that you propose that we need government because if we don't have government things like this (government corruption & fuckups) will happen. It's amusing. You can't make this up; government creates a colossal fuckup and you use that as an example of the problems of a free market......

Clinton and Sanders close debate by referencing Flint. Clinton brought it up and Sanders added a few comments, including a call for Snyder to resign.

If we find out he knew about it and sat on it...then yes. That doesn't seem to be the case though.

It's a team sport and there's an election coming up. You have to seize every opportunity that becomes available to you or else you may lose out on filling the power vacuum that'll be up for grabs.
Anyone that obsessed with power like these people are would do the exact same thing. They may not get another chance to capitalize on the perception that easily fits into a Facebook meme whether it's factual or not. Legally it'll get sorted out (hopefully) but whether Snyder knew about it or not doesn't matter... the court of public opinion has rendered it's verdict.
Either way, this is the game he chose to be apart of and play so it is what it is.

Yeah Snyder has been such a great governor too. Especially what he has done for Detroit--stopping the kick the can politics and actually acting.
But people will largely associate him with this and will be one of the first things brought up when talking about his time in office.

That's the game. Neither side cares about anyone but their own. Hence, the stalemate and vitriol between the two.
Government does a great job at bringing people together.

That's right. I was waiting for them to protest the governor. Then I was wondering, oooo they're a majority of Republican backers they are probably trying to figure out how to cover for the party.

Not sure I'd call them a movement than a reaction to a movement. I don't see #AllLivesMatter running around stifling freedom of the press and trying to bum rush and intimidate college students studying in the library.
The irony being, of course.. that to the Black Lives Matter group... black lives don't matter when they're taken by other black lives, which is over 90% of the black lives that are taken in this country.
This is veering off-topic, though.

Bottom line, that moment is just basically young people with nothing better to do, and they are pissed they somehow got bored with the internet and video games around

Jokes aside, I think people who reply to someone saying "black lives matter" with "all lives matter" is like replying to someone that says "save the rain forest" with "why do you hate pine trees in the Midwest?" It's a little ridiculous.
