Tracy McGrady now pitching for the Sugar Land Skeeters

Former NBA all-star Tracy McGrady always dreamed of playing professional baseball. On Saturday night, that dream became a reality as the now 34-year-old right-handed pitcher made his debut for the Sugar Land Skeeters during their independent Atlantic League game against the Somerset Patriots.

McGrady was given the starting assignment by Skeeters manager and former major leaguer Gary Gaetti, but was still held on a strict pitch count. He ended up throwing 35 pitches (18 strikes) and lasted one and two-thirds innings. The Patriots touched him up for one run in the first inning on one hit, two walks and a wild pitch. Former Houston Astros shortstop Edwin Maysonet then connected for a home run in the second, which effectively ended McGrady's evening.

Hey the Lions are drafting basketball players, why not the Tiges. 

Just watched video of his throwing form. His throwing motion is so slow every one on an MLB roster would be able to steal a base on him.

Was he throwing from the stretch?

Is his fastball a "Skeeter Heater" ?

Good for McGrady chasing his dream of playing baseball. Lots of guys always talk about "I wish I could have played ______" but never do it.
