Fairview Food Market Wins National Honor

The ACMC draws participants from across the United States. This year, there were 678 entries in 29 product classes. In total, 67 AAMP membership plants participated in the competition. Meat processors enter their products for evaluation by judges who are meat scientists and specialists in the industry. All entries are judged on the basis of aroma, flavor, eye appeal, color, and texture.

– Reserve Champion – Jerky, Whole Muscle Class

So, I am definitely going to use "Meat Scientist" as my bar profession when asked next time.

This looks like it could get pretty crazy coming right after Heritage Days.....Sunday at 5pm.

I actually stumbled across it in the "weird news" section of another site a few days ago. tRCMB immediately came to mind.

Be careful what bar you're in before you declare yourself a 'Meat Scientist', you may be popular for all the wrong reasons.

And later this week - Hemp Oil Night at the Senior Center. It's hard sometimes to keep up with the social whirl in Mio.

With this on Friday night and RiverFest on Saturday Mio will be throbbing this weekend.

The Mio library is quite nice in the fall....

Big news in the Mio area and for GoodBar....

For the first time in almost 5 months, we have 2 doors. Stop in today or tomorrow to check out the new automatic doors and save some money with our Deer Camp Meat Sale.

LUZERNE — The American Legion Post 162 will be hosting its annual Thanksgiving dinner Thursday, Nov. 22, from 1-5 p.m.

It is free and open to the community, post Commander Rick Landry said.

There will be plenty of food made by American Legion members, including turkey, potatoes, ham, pie and more, he said.

“You name it, and we’re going to probably have it there,” Landry said.

He said attendance for the event tends to vary.

“A lot of it depends on the weather,” Landry said. “We can get up to 100 people, maybe more, maybe less.”

The dinner has been going on for several years, he said.

“It’s part of our commitment to the community,” Landry said. “The community helps us, and we help the community.”

The dinner will be hosted at 3590 Legion Drive in Luzerne.
