On the way home from EL today I proved to my wife that every 100 dashes on the road is one mile. I also showed her that all the north and south streets in the D area if you take the first two digits of the address subtract five and divide by two it gives you the mile road it's near. So 24157 Gratiot would be near 8 1/2 mile. 24-5 divided by two.

I was happy.

That works clear out to Romeo....I always knew it as address-5000 then /2, but same thing.

Just had a good laugh to/at myself. Went to the store. Made a purchase with credit card. Early 20's kid bags my items, prints off store receipt, hands me a pen to sign. I hand back to him, not really paying attention. He asks me if I want my receipt. I wave him off with a normal straight face (no smile, no frown) and say nah, I'm good. He looks confused and somewhat stunned. I grab my shit and walk out. As I'm walking out, I see that my receipt is in the bag. I realize he didn't ask me if I wanted my receipt, he said "Have a good rest of your day". And I told him "Nah, I'm good." and waved him off.

I always loved, when I worked in retail, the people that would look at you with contempt after you greeted them in any way.

"Hey, how are you doing today?"
"....*look away awkwardly"

One time I said hello to someone, who looked directly at me and walked away from me. I just said, "Wow, okay then..." and he immediately got red-faced and started talking to me.

Happens everywhere, even when I'm out in the neighborhood walking the dog. I'll say hi to someone passing by on my side or across the street, and if I get the brush off I just tell my dog that it was a cat-person.
