Re: Random Ramblings
If anyone needs a job and meets these qualifications, Rob Lowe needs a personal assistant. Pays 70k
— Never assume anything
— Ensure the CLIENT [Rob] is fed and has coffee throughout the day
— Schedule haircuts every episode for the CLIENT
— Ensure that the CLIENT HAS A DINNER PLAN IF ARRIVING HOME LATER THAN 8 PM in the evening
— Make sure you let Estate staff know if the CLIENT wants a Jacuzzi turned on or a massage ordered for his arrival
— Willing to travel on location as requested and serve as the CLIENT’S body man
— Able to lift up to 25 pounds as required to support THE CLIENT

Except for the Jacuzzi part, I'd be perfect for the job, because I do those things all the time for myself on a daily basis. Damn if I'm taking a pay cut though.

Alamo Drafthouse in Kalamazoo is leaving the theater space effective 4/3. Damn.
Probably AMC or Cinemark coming to take its place. I wonder if this third theater will fail like Alamo and Rave have.

Dude. You've only been here a month or so.MattyFresh wrote:"Bloomfield Township Police say a suspected seafood thief was caught with more than $300 worth of lobster, shrimp and salmon.
The incident was reported Jan. 31 at a Kroger supermarket on Telegraph Road. Police say the suspect pushed a shopping cart filled with groceries out of the store without paying for any items.
Police say employees confronted the suspect in the store parking lot, at which point he left the cart and walked away. Arriving officers quickly caught up to the man hiding in a nearby business."

Re: Random Ramblings
Have an aluminum can and a gallon glass jug I've been throwing loose change into for a few years. Put pennies in the jug and nickels, dimes, and quarters in the can.
Cleaned loose change out of the car this morning and discovered the can is now pretty much full. Kinda heavy too. Put it on a scale and it's about 8 1/2 pounds.
No idea what the mix of coins in the can is but got curious wondering how much a pound of quarters, dimes, and nickels were respectively worth. After looking it up they are roughly:
$20 per pound of quarters
$20 per pound of dimes
$4.50 per pound of nickels
Looked up pennies too...about $1.45 per pound. According to a WSJ article I read, it cost 1.5 cents to mint a penny as of 2016. Time for them to go.

You ever try to buy a box like 28"x24"x16"? Just one f'in box, not a bundle of 10. I'm trying to ship a damn used tower server to MN and you won't believe how hard it is to buy one damn box. This is driving me crazy.

Both reasonably close. Corporate websites say "call nearest location for sizes and availability". I was hoping to not have to talk a human being.

Do you call TV newsrooms to give them a heads up on breaking news? Reporters love people who do that, especially if they're listening to the smaller city PD/FD scanners that are bedroom communities to the bigger cities.

I don't think so... He barely shot the ball and never really looked engaged in the action. The Murray kid from Kentucky was playing well and they probably just rode the hot hand. Don't think Gary even saw the court in the fourth quarter.
Oh well, Kemba was fun to watch and jokic put on a show.

Saw the '17 GMC Yukon XL in black today. That's a good looking SUV. More vehicle than I need, but damn that's good looking. The back half is boxier like the mid-90s Suburban used to be. I like it.

Re: Random Ramblings
"A seismic shift of stuff is underway in homes all over America.
Members of the generation that once embraced sex, drugs and rock-and-roll are trying to offload their place settings for 12, family photo albums and leather sectionals.
Their offspring don’t want them.
As baby boomers, born between 1946 and 1964, start cleaning out attics and basements, many are discovering that millennials, born between 1980 and 2000, are not so interested in the lifestyle trappings or nostalgic memorabilia they were so lovingly raised with.
Thanks, Mom, but I really can’t use that eight-foot dining table or your king-size headboard.
Whether becoming empty nesters, downsizing or just finally embracing the decluttering movement, boomers are taking a good close look at the things they have spent their life collecting. Auction houses, consignment stores and thrift shops are flooded with merchandise, much of it made of brown wood. Downsizing experts and professional organizers are comforting parents whose children appear to have lost any sentimental attachment to their adorable baby shoes and family heirloom quilts.
To make matters worse, young adults don’t seem to want their own college textbooks, sports trophies or T-shirt collections, still entombed in plastic containers at their parents’ homes.
The 20- and 30-somethings don’t appear to be defined by their possessions, other than their latest-generation cellphones."
Stuff it: Millennials nix their parents’ treasures
