tOfficial 2016 MHSAA Football Thread
High school football in Michigan kicks off next week. Cass Tech is ranked #1 followed by OSLM, Lowell, Muskegon, and Zeeland West in the top 5. Dakota, King, Walled Lake Western, Romeo, and GR West Catholic round out the top 10.
The biggest opening week game is probably #2 OLSM @ #6 Dakota. WBH, how are you betting? Some better games coming in weeks 2 and 3.

That have been pretty dominant in D5 for the past few years. Week 3 they play Zeeland West. Should be a good game.

Who else is super excited for Manistee @ McBain? I think they sell raw milk at the McBain games.

Mick McCabe’s top-25 players: Nos. 1-5
Also some good links in there to McCabe's top teams, he's pretty good at the HS stuff - of course he's been doing it for decades now so that helps.

East Lansing will go 6-3 and I'll have beer and probably whiskey pulsating through my veins at each game.

We're trying to pivot towards a recruiting based message board. This does not help OTPT.

High school games are too commercial for me. The game in it's purest form is at the 5-6 year old flag football level.

I'm in GR for the night. Gonna check out the first game of my cousin's junior year after a strong sophomore year on varsity. GR Press put him as a "prospect to watch" on offense in the OK conference. Pretty pumped to watch him..he's been lifting hard and added a lot of good weight. Fast as shit too. This will be my first and last HS game of the year

34 Rockford players sick some hospitalized. Superintendent sent this out to team members:
Under the advisement of the Director of the KCHD, I placed restrictions on which players could participate in the football game, using the 48-hour standard for symptoms. After discussing this with Head Coach Munger, it is his position that the game not be played due to the large percentage of athletes affected by the illness. I support Coach Munger’s position, therefore, the August 26 home opener has been cancelled. This will result in Rockford forfeiting the game, keeping in mind that safety and the health of our athletes is more important.

No, sorry. Don't know. I don't think it's s bad thing. I actually got that while reading a thread on the Michigan board about those who stay. They were playing Saline.

Re: tOfficial 2016 MHSAA Football Thread
About 25-30 players, 2 football coaches and some parents have come down with "flu like symptoms". Gastric distress on both ends.
They are all varsity players, coaches and parents of players. Health Department is investigating the location of their football retreat everyone attended 2 weeks ago.
Its been limited to the football team, no other students who've been using the school have been affected.
If this stuff continues Rockford will either have to cancel next week or play Lowell with a weakened roster and could be looking at 0-2.

I think TC Central was picked to win the Big North Conference this year. TC West graduated a lot of players. I do not know anything about Midland.

It's Beal City. You would probably have to go back quite a few years to find a season where they lost more than a couple regular season games.
