That's what you people are saying. Think about it.

Like porn. I can't define it for you. But I know it when I see it. We all have that line we're uncomfortable with. I respect everyone's line. I'm just off put by some of them.

Nope.

My opinion is that rather than swallow all the heated up political rhetoric as proven fact they wait 6 months and see what happens.

The Trump Presidency could be a disaster, could be great - more likely to be a mediocrity but I doubt that it makes America a seething hotbed of racial hatred - or any more than it is today.

I'll be shocked if he does anything to stir up racial divisions. I fully expect his enemies to do all they can to seize any small openings they can to exploit the divisions that exist. They've been doing that for decades, it's how they make their living.

Wags? I'm not going to be mad at anyone here, I'm just asking you to think about your life and experiences. How many people do you know that transitioned from being "friends of minorities" in their 50s to raging racists in their 70s?

For you to believe the Ds, the media and their parrots that's what you have to believe happened to Trump.

I do know people that went the other way at least to some degree. People that were racists, homophobes, etc that actually softened their stances based on life experiences.

Maybe it's just me but I've never met the opposite. Most people that are racist as hell, etc have those stances by the time they're in their teens or twenties. Do you know people that acquired those feelings late in life?

I just don't run into any racists. I can point to maybe like two actual racists in my life. And they weren't all there. Where are these hordes of racist whites out to keep the black man down? I wanna fight them. Show me the way, guise.

Again, from a hespanic federal judge to his problems with minorities renting in the 70's to people on his show to what he said on a bus. I don't begrudge anyone who they believe or where they get their news. I don't care. He's our president for four years. I know what I feel uncomfortable with and I don't care or make a judgement on where anyone else draws that line with him until I personally know you. I've never considered anyone who voted trump a racist. I know my feelings about him and racism and misogyny and where I draw the line of moral support with guys like him or Clinton. But I believe I'm consistent and have never over looked my beliefs because they're associated with a party. Makes no difference to me what anyone on this board posts. I only know one guy personally and he voted for trump for many reasons. Race or sex not being in the top ten. I know where I have to draw the line. Doesn't make me right, it makes my line pronounced.

No, really. Where are these racists that only seem to gravitate towards hard left individuals? I don't ever encounter these people described.

That's good. You're life seems great. One less hassle to deal with. I personally don't run into a lot of cancer sufferers or rape victims or mentally abused people. That's a blessing in my life. But I'm not ignorant enough to not understand just because I'm not running into them there aren't thousands of them out there in my very proximity. Good for you that you don't deal with those who have been victims of racism.

I think there are. But I don't think those individuals are in any position to cause any real hardship outside of a few isolated cases.

How many racists do you know, Dwags? How many people do you know that specifically target minorities in order to keep them back in life?

From charging more money at a mechanics shop to neglecting homes being rented to minorities which they've contracted out to the government for monthly rent to opening up insurance shops in minority's neighborhoods which charge exhorborant prices to profiling people of color who come into their shops, I could give you hundreds of examples. I find it comforting that you have never been told a racist joke in a circle of friends though. It makes me feel we're moving in the right direction.

So where do I have to go, where do I have to live? Where to I have to frequent to encounter these savages beasts, dwags? I want to be like the Hunter S. Thompson (minus the literary talent) of the racist white underculture of 2016.

(Is underculture even word? Find out in my next novel about racist whites of suburban wherever Dwags lives...)

I'm pretty thankful so far. Besides the missing Santa Ana and Bombay Kitchen. Lower crime and racial targeting (don't worry, not the kind you'd be interested in).

Again, we all have our own reality. Good on you. If I give you examples and you peshaw them, I'm not going to beg you to believe me. I said earlier, you're trying way to hard here. A simple I don't believe they exist is good enough. I'm not trying to convert you. You're good

I actually look for this kind of thing. I'm waiting to hear an actual racist comment from anyone I come in contact to in my day to day. So far in my experience it's been outweighed the other way. But the popularity of the other side has me thinking I'm missing something in the mainstream. I'm just looking for directions.

You've said this and that... the specifics are what matter. I get you're not interested, that's why you've hung in there to try and convince me.
My father in law it put it perfectly... he grew up in Mexico and when he moved to Texas his wife was pregnant with my wife's brother... he walked 5 miles without any shoes to summon the doctor at 3am. The doctor was annoyed, got into his car and sped off, leaving my father in law to walk back 5 miles with his bare feet. My nephew, about my age (Mexican families, HEH... is that racist?!?!?!), said...."So he didn't want to give you a fucking ride cause you're Mexican?" My father in law, the sweetest man I think I've ever met and has done very well for himself, replied "I don't know about that, it could have been a million things. He was kind of an ornery guy to begin with".

As a gringo observer, watching that interaction, it seemed strange that an older generation from the 50's/60's would correct a younger one about presuming what the intent was. Obviously the doctor was an asshole and self centered... but to assume it was racist was a bit presuming as well. Maybe the guy is just a prick and would have reacted the same to trailer trash in their bare feet? Of course, he could have actually disliked Mexicans and did that on purpose... but the presume that out of many different possibilities is weird.

Request - Why did you vote for Trump? - Page 2 Empty Re: Request - Why did you vote for Trump?

Actually not Ty. Ty is one of the 3 Trump voters I know, at least I presume by his drunken ramblings. And I'm not sure if he's racist but I'm sure that the other 2 I know are because they're fairly open about it.

Someone wants a real life example? Royal Oak, Michigan. Kids chanting build the wall. Making a noose in a bathroom. Sorry, that hits close to home to me. I have an elementary aged son and a daughter who will be in a few years. And it's very close to where I live. Again, I'm white, my kids are white. They probably would not be intimidated by that. It would be hard to explain to them sure. Would some of their classmates be targeted/intimidated? Probably. Is it a shitty environment and one that I don't really want them exposed to? Fuck yes it is.

I think the "angst" coming from people is not necessarily about Trump, and his policies and whether or not he's really a racist or misogynist or whatever. That's a small part of it. The real angst is that his election and popularity has given a mouth piece to a lot of very angry people who are real racists, etc. And those people have started to act on those feelings. It is disappointing to a lot of people because we thought this country and our neighbors were better than that.

Maybe it's all a media creation. Maybe those kids in Royal Oak were a hoax. I heard they were two 3rd grade classes. Coincidence? I think not.

Whatever, I do hope shit will settle down.

1. We have already had one Clinton in the office, and it was riddled with scandal almost the entire time. Hillary, regardless of what she said, does not support women's rights. She helped Bill hush the accusers, something that she accused Trump of doing. She voted Rep back when she started in politics, and voted against gay rights and any pro-African-American topics that came her way. And she wants to support all people? Request - Why did you vote for Trump? - Page 2 502811600

The way she has completely avoided her email/server saga shows more than just some ignorant people going "Oh boy it's just a server." She hid things and obviously they were bad enough that she wanted to keep them from everyone else. How can we trust her not to do this with the even bigger American policies/secrets she'd be exposed to if she won?

Also, my father and grandfather were in the military. I saw no support for them from Hillary. That is absolutely disrespectful and complete bullshit. These entitled fucks that protest the streets because Hillary lost are the same people that spit on them when they come back from wars. My dad didn't fight for that.

2. I'm not fond of some of the things he has said. However, it's not like Hillary was some perfect candidate. She completely avoided answering questions about the server saga AND the Clinton Foundation scandal (which if it's all true, makes her one of the worst presidential candidates in history). Any time I saw her rallies on TV, she would just bash Trump, and made it like the election was a wrap. I didn't care for that, so that was another reason.

People gloss over all the shit Hillary has DONE in her time in politics, yet highlight everything Trump says. He hasn't done anything yet, and probably won't do much. You have morons on here starting threads simply to bait others into arguing and talking vaguely back at them. Those are the people I'm glad I'm not with in this thing.

Another reason I'm glad I didn't vote Clinton: They haven't come out to say to stop the protesting. They were so ready to embrace everyone and start anew as a better nation once they thought the election was a Dem win for sure, yet act more discriminatory and horrible than most Trump people ever have. It's disgusting behavior, and you even had someone on here (an older poster) supporting anti-Trump violence. Completely appalling.

in his defense, Hillary did have a private email account.

Whereas Trump is a racist, bigot..  an admitted sexual predator who mocks disabled people.. has 5 children by 3 different women.. and denigrates the parents of fallen soldiers... and enjoys a KKK endorsement.

I agreed more with what Trump had to offer than Hillary...

Which is what?

Given your 31 references to Hillary (she, her, etc.)  and your 7 references to Trump, I think it was more of a why you didn't vote for her.

If you won't give your opinion on the candidates, and not be vague as hell, then you have no right to dissect my opinions.

I agreed more with what Trump had to offer than Hillary. I kept thinking more about what Hilldawg has DONE politically more than what Trump has said.

If that makes me weak in your eyes, so be it. Not mad, we just disagree.

I came out and said why I voted for him, and I'm sure some loony tune will come on here Monday and call me racist/sexist/homophobic/KKK member/baby eater/puppy kicker and laugh about it like he's not the discriminatory one.

Death Roe you completely missed my point here. Completely. This has nothing to do with Trump vs Hillary.

"These entitled fucks that protest the streets because Hillary lost are the same people that spit on them when they come back from wars. My dad didn't fight for that."

That's what you said. The scary thing here is degrading or shunning people who protest/stand up for what they believe in. You may disagree with the CAUSE/reasoning behind it but the actual act of protesting? Asking the losing party to say stop? Come on, what did your family in military fight for then?
