Improve at what? Getting the job done like he has his whole career? If Wilson can lock down the 8th it will improve the whole team tremendously over KRod not being the closer. KRod not closing would be a death blow.

Ryan and Greene are very shakey out there.

Wilson and K Rod are doing alright. I haven't watched Sanchez enough to tell if he's good in the BP or not. I do think we need one more dominant arm coming out of the pen.

I don't want to get premature or irrationally exuberant but this team seems to have "something". Maybe it's just a bit more motivation to win so they don't get broken up. Maybe it's the injection of a little youth bringing more energy. Who knows. but this could be a fun summer, especially if Floyd can get the bullpen fixed.

Fulmer went to other dugout steps at end of 6th, but couldn't avoid Ausmus handshake. He retired last 10 batters after Mauer 2-run single.

It's early and it has been a fun start.

My early observations

* I missed the White Sox series, but starting with the Red Sox the Tigers have had the lead every time the SP leaves the game

* Tigers are winning with long ball and the HRs are coming from the bottom of the line up

* The BP has been close to blowing it every game I've watched.

* Castelleanos looks greatly improved at base running and defense.

* Tigers have two pitchers that seem to be able to control an inning out of the BP K Rod and Wilson.

They desperately need a long reliever. I have a feeling they are going to shuffle around the pen for a while until they find something that works. Hopefully Sanchez can figure something out, they say he looked good towards the end of spring training.
