My family has one standing order:
If I am found in a retail establishment or public space like a library wearing sweat pants they are to take me out to a field and shoot me.

The only waivers are if I am going to the hospital for surgery or being transported home after surgery.

Now that winter has come and shorts are becoming an increasingly slimmer option, I've noticed my current lot of sweats are a little ragged.

What should I get? My niece's bro-friend wore a par of classy sweats to Thanksgiving dinner that fit tight around the ankle/calf. They seem to be the new rage for strolling around town in comfort and style. Should I invest in this new trend or am I too old and stick with the standard track pants?

I would never wear sweat pants in general, much less out in public.

I have a pair of Adidas soccer pants.. sort of slim-fitting "sweat pants", I reckon. I wear them around the house. I think I've checked the mail in them.

That's about it - that's all personal pride and not wanting to reflect poorly on my immediate family or my upbringing will allow.
