Wow, it is a great eclipse. I was staring at the sun and now everything is totally black. I mean I can't see a thing. I thought it was only supposed to last a couple minutes though.

So here's what Wyoming was like:  Not bad traffic-wise.  I'd say the light didn't change noticeably until it was at about 80% totality.  One thing people not in the path could have done is look at shadows around things like trees.  Check this out.  This was around 85% totality on my friend's deck.  See all the little crescents?  

Once it got past 75 to about totality, you really started to notice the temperature change.  The day birds stopped flying around, the night birds started making noise, and the crickets started in.  They say you can see the shadow of the moon coming at you along the ground, but I didn't.  I'd say total, it dropped maybe 15 degrees.
This is the best pic my phone got.  

The lesson, is: take the time to go to totality.  It's completely different than even a 95% eclipse.  Your next chance is in 2024 in Texas, I think.

Again, it's actually just a picture of the president. I posted the same picture on the political board. The responses to that would have been deleted if they were here. Moving an individual post isn't an option, I can only move the whole thread.

Honestly, you just need to chill out a little. You could have just ignored it. You aren't really asking for "fair" moderating, and I suspect you wouldn't like the result of that. Again, I could start deleting everything that is ever so slightly sort of politics related (including the post I'm responding to,) but no one is going to be happy with that. I stick to moving strictly political threads or threads that turn primarily political. It really doesn't even happen that much anymore. You're welcome for that.

Fuck the political bullshit - I watched a total eclipse of the sun today and it was awesome.

Little town off of I-77 exit 27 in South Carolina called Blythewood.

The had carnival food, food trucks, beer, and local bands - all set up in their big town park.

Covers performed included: Black Hole Sun, Born Under a Bad Sign, and Ain't No Sunshine.
