2024 Solar Eclipse

Monday April 8th. Still have cheap paper glasses from the 2017 event...they worked. This time path of totality will be much closer to SE MI. Thought back in 2017 of booking a motel in Ohio for 2024. Decided not to, figuring the time of year it would likely be overcast anyway...just an early night before the real night time.

That’s why I didn’t offer to help look for lodging. I didn’t want to go but agreed to tag along if they found a place to stay. Thankfully, it didn’t materialize.

I have a question why would you need a place to stay? Like, it’s not that far from here wouldn’t you just need to be anywhere outside at the right time? They have outside in lots of non hotel places

If you plan on cocktails while watching is all I can think of. But that’s a to and fro type distance.

My BiL lives out east. They were looking for a midpoint and neither my wife nor her brother were interested in just a day trip. If they were going to meet up, they’d want to spend some time together.

Back in 2017 saw the woman across the street standing in their driveway holding her newborn with one arm and staring up at the sun, shading her eyes with the other hand. Walked over and gave her an extra pair of goofy glasses I had.
