Totally serious. Anyone who would not hedge 1% of their assets on economic collapse given the 17 Trillion dollar national debt that is increasing beyond any hope of stopping, and the past 17 year roller coaster ride is, in my analysis, irresponsible. Your outlook is obviously different. I wish you well, but I can afford it, so I am covered there.
BTW I am reading that most serious investors dedicate 10-30% of their portfolios to precious metals. Interesting.
I don't think to stockpiling them though.

Dude, I'm talking about $4,000 I squirreled away from allowance withdrawals my old lady approved them over the past year. I take out $100 per week and that's my "walking around money" Ha Ha She gets $75 hair cuts. ( PS "walking around money is a term coined by Isaiah Thomas). I don't actually spend any money so I have reserves that I invest for contingencies. (yes I own black rifles, Shhhhhhh don't tell anyone they may accuse me of being a mass murderer).
Dude, I just put a little away at a time.... been doing it with money and most recently every day stuff, sundry goods.

if you want this for some possible cataclysm, precious metals will only become useful after a significant amount of time has passed. buy things like fish hooks, axes, hand saws, nails, medical supplies, things you can barter with. also get enough food to feed a small army, because you will need a small army for protection.

I love those nutjobs on those doomsday shows! Crazy people are so fucking funny! The loopy range of crazy scenarios are the best: solar flares, mega volcanoes, black presidents etc. I can't get enough of those idiots! They're all either divorced, or have some creepy medicated wife and fat kids that can't read. So fucking funny! I love the losers who build some fortress out in the woods and spend their days fantasizing about fending off imaginary invaders! It's fucking hilarious! Look how much dry food my retarded wife bought! Look at all this fucking ammo I bought! So funny! The ones who try to train their delayed children are the best! "Dwayne! DWAYNE! You ain't shouting it right!" Lol. I wish there were more shows on these losers. They make the Kardashians look smart!

Not for very long. You're familiar with the saying, "Man makes a plan: God laughs."
So I'd rather die trying to save my family than hand them over to the savages, what's your plan? I guess you could trade your children for food.
If it does happen, which I doubt, it ain't gonna be pretty.

No cause we already kicked your butt in multiple wars. And bailed you out of several others. Though you did handle Argentina in the Falklands all by yourselves. You made us so proud!

Is USA Today a right-wing organization? Just curious because I saw this, and I know it's impossible.

Facts:
1) The world will, one day, end.
2) The odds of that happening during our lifetimes = ~0.00000001% + or - a coont hair or so....
3) Somebody is going to be right eventually...
Who the **** are any of you to judge? It is like playing the lottery. Your odds of winning it are very close to 0%, but you minus well have your name in the hat because some lucky motherfuckers numbers are going to get pulled eventually.

I have all my retirement tied up in those limited edition coins you see on TV. I've found that if you call back with a different foreign accent you can get around the "per family" quantity limitations.
They are buried in the back yard along with several cases of laptop batteries for the rapture. When all you idiots are running around looking for food, I'll be sitting pretty, surfing the internet and buying whatever I want online with limited edition coins.

Tannerite rules. My buddies put a shitload of it under a junk car once to see if they could flip it over. Instead, the blast went up through the engine compartment and blew the hood about 100 feet in the air. I wasn't there but I watched the video.

It's not really that surprising, as when he was in high school he had a set of deer antlers affixed to the hood of his truck. He was 2 years ahead of me in high school and always sort of walked with a limp. Not sure what was up with that....
I don't have a problem with the fact that he's a doomsday prepper. I'm glad that he has found a purpose in life. I saw him this past holiday season and he seemed nice enough. Said that the casino job was working out nicely for him. I'm happy for him.

Come on, everybody, sing along!
"Silver bars... Silver baaaars... it's Doomsday Time, in the city.
Ring-a-ling, mailman brings, more goods for stocking away.
Empty sidewalks, killing zone blocks, pass the applejack, please. I'm too low on ammo... got to get more.
Kinda thirsty, it's the jerky, makes me drink til I pee.
Where to go, though, so I'm not i.d.'d.
