Best Led Zeppelin studio album?

Sort of surprising that someone wouldnt like Led Zeppelin IV if they like the first two albums.

The 2nd album is possibly the best one upon first listen but doesnt have as much depth to it as others and Ive grown bored of it, just my opinion

If they'd just have put "When the Levee Breaks" on IV for all 8 tracks then I would have ranked it #2.

Every song they wrote up to Houses of the Holy is great. Physical Graffiti has some duds but its still a great album.

And for the record I found that Steely Dan's "Aja" was much better 70s makeout music.

I also love when Damone is trying to sell Cheap Trick tickets to the one cheerleader and she goes "that's kid stuff" - in reference to rock and roll..

that cheerleader is Pamela Springsteen.. her older brother has dabbled a bit in the kid stuff she was referring to.   

I'll go with Led Zeppelin II.. I feel like it had more of a driving rock sound.. a lot of good riffs. Obviously, most casual listeners and bystanders will likely name IV or even Physical Graffiti, but I think II set up a lot of what was to come from the band in those later records.

in all honesty, I've always seen Led Zeppelin as one of those bands I could take or leave.. I think the repetition of 2-3 songs on classic radio burns a lot of people out.

To each their own but to me, no band has accomplished more from a purely musical (in terms of great guitar riffs/drums/bass) than Zep. Jimi and whatever band he stuck with could have surpassed it but his public music career was so brief.

Physical Graffiti has everything. And LOL at Zep being overrated ...they are the best band ever. Imagine if Bonham never died.

If humans are still around this planet in 200 years, Kashmir and Stairway will still be relevent to the music world. Few composers have a song you can say that with, let alone two.
