You’re welcome. I’m looking a lot at the percentage predictions... those factor for which districts are reporting. I’m guessing the reason that they show bishop as winning right now but Slotkin likely winning is that bobs vote hasn’t been counted yet

Yeah that’s a bummer. Man I don’t think that’s the last we’re gonna hear from Gillum though.

As far as trump goes, the house is going to start doing it’s job, so that’s nice.

On the bright side we won the house. There’s going to be over sight for trump finally. I was feeling gloomy earlier because they were focusing on the Florida races and Nate silvers stupid site was projected that the repubs could win the house. This night actually went about as expected for the Dems and was a good night.

Been a decent night for Democrats - the Florida results are the most disappointing so I'm sure it sucks to be in the middle of it.

It would have been nice to pick up one of those red state democrat senate seats. Indiana, North Dakota, (Missouri? I’m not sure on Missouri right now.) not so much for it mattering this year, but it’s one less you need to win in 2020 when the map is much much more favorable

Update, not looking great in Missouri. Like I said, whatever it makes no difference now, but it’s just one more seat they need to win later

That whole show was an embarrassment. An open wound. It needs to be a major story with serious accountability. It was an open effort to suppress votes.

Any info on MSU BoT? Below is all I can find. This is more compelling to me than out-of-state gubernatorial races.

https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/politics/elections/2018/11/06/michigan-education-boards-msu-um-wsu-results-winners/1825453002/

With one of 83 counties reporting on the Secretary of State website, Republican business executive Dave Dutch of Traverse City and Republican Mike Miller of Okemos were leading with 31.3 percent and 30.85 percent, respectively. They were trailed by Democrats Brianna Scott of Muskegon and Kelly Tebay of Pittsfield Township with 15.7 percent and 13.8 percent of the vote, respectively.

I went Dutch and Scott

Dutch & Tebay. Looks like we had a similar view. I wanted one from each side. From the twitters
..

Hard to tell who is ahead so far in MSU Board of Trustees race. Secretary of State website has 6/83 counties with Republicans Dave Dutch and Mike Miller ahead. However, Democrat Brianna Scott is leading in Kent, Oakland and Macomb counties. Stay tuned!

Need Rep Ryan from Youngstown to lead. I like that guy. Problem with Dems is that they're getting too old. Biden, Bernie, Nancy, etc. I like Biden, but I'd have a hard time voting a 78 year old for president, no matter what his/her policies.

Man I know this board is an echo chamber in regards to political discourse but would have really appreciate input on the BoT race. Wish you guys would have posted up in the Trustees thread. I did what I thought was some solid research and arrived at Miller and Scott and no way Tebay but I am always open to discussion. This is a non partisan race in my mind so if you please, explain your position and if it's compelling I'm gonna be sad that it's too late to change my mind.

I stated it elsewhere, but this is the type of race where you might actually be able to change someone's mind.

Honestly man I think the takeaway you can pull from that is the level of concern people have over who is and isn’t on the board of trustees for MSU. It’s not really a partisan thing so much as people don’t give a shit.

For the record you convinced me enough with your passion to only vote for the one democrat and advise my bot lemmings to do the same. There was nothing anyone could ever do this year, short of a candidate literally being a rabid psychopath, to convince me to vote for any republican.

Hatch, for me it was pretty simple. First I wanted diversity, it is important to have different (and opposing) viewpoints on the BoT.

I had no issues with any of the candidates. Though Miller was the hardest to peg for me. Dutch seemed to have the most business sense, which is going to be needed more and more in the future for all Universities. Tebay seemed to have the biggest voice on sexual assault, which is obviously a huge issue right now. Way too late, but better than not at all.  She also brought a younger voice to the table.

WBH, I actually changed my vote from straight D on Board to voting Scott and Campbell based upon what you posted. I normally don't follow what someone I don't know on a goddamn message board to decide how to vote, but I took your word for it. I also do what you do - find information and make informed decisions. But the stench coming from the liar-in-chief and the dickless sycophant republicans was so bad, I couldn't pull the trigger on any repub.

Having said that, I hate voting like this. I would rather research and listen, then decide. Wrong year to be a repub
