I went to a distillery in Royal Oak a few weeks ago (shit time flies, maybe a few months ago) when the fam was up north with MIL. They had these giant cubes of ice. Literally cubes. For rocks pours. I thought that was pretty cool. I definitely don't like my bourbon warm, but I don't really like it watered down, either.

It's way above that here. I paid around $20 for the 375 ml bottle. The fifth is around $35.00. It's outrageous.

I got this as a stocking stuffer the other year. If you fill it just right you get this nice ice sphere that for me works out really well. It seems to melt slower so it doesn't water the drink down as much and it opens the flavor up well.

For under $10.00 it's a good upgrade to the drink.

I have no idea. It was on 4th st East of Main by a few blocks. Near Ridley's comedy castle. North side of 4th. They had a dog running around in there.

I go to a Korean Liquor store and the guy convinced me to try that the other year. I love it. His tasting note to me was 'very smooth, and for price very good'. I agree with him.

I'm terrible at tasting notes, but to me Bulliet is oakier and heavier.

I recommend checking it out sometime.

I'll have to try it. I like the Buffalo Trace because I'm kind of a puss with Bourbon, but I can drink Buffalo Trace straight with no burn and it tastes great. I have to water down most other Bourbons I've tried.

I was not allowed into the peanut barrel tonight at 10:20.  We walked up to the back door with drink. Dick with a beard said he couldn't let us in the back cause we had drinks. No big deal, we put our drinks down and walked around the front. Then when we were gonna be seated the little dick came and said don't let us in. On my kids, we aren't drunk, we're with our wives, we're in our 50's there were a shit ton of empty tables. I'm with a couple from my church. Weasel with the beard has the social is of a gnat.  I'm  not drunk, but might get drunk and go get kicked out for proper reasons. (Technically wasn't kicked out, we weren't let in)

Dwags true story, last time I was in EL I went to Crunchy's for the first time (amazingly I had never been there before) I parked in the lot by Bigsby's walked up to the front through some little patio, walked in the front door...I made it like four steps in and some lady ran up grabbed me by the arm like I as some little kid that was misbehaving and was shouting at me that I was not allowed to come in through there. (This was at like 7pm I hadn't had a drop of alcohol).

I fucking lost it, jerked my arm away from her hard and was like 'is this how you welcome your paying customers?'. She made me go out the door I came in and I had to walk to the back by some sidewalk between the buildings to get to the entrance. No signs, and wasn't clear at all what the protocol was. It pissed me off. So I walked to the back got in and I complained to the manager. They saw I had a NY ID and were like 'we are being cool, imagine if you tried that in NYC?' What a fucking idiot!!! WTF???? I've never even been carded in NYC moron!

At any rate, you just have to play the f'n game in that town. They are terrified of losing their liquor license, and you unfortunately have to deal with the fuckers at the doors that are going to have their little power trips.

I was fucking speechless.... I literally look over to where a new guy's office is being set up and it's a Jewish last name... don't see a lot of those in Michigan, especially west Michigan... so I happen to just say "Fischmeyer... eh, a Jewish name" to the few people around me and everything got quiet like I said '******' or something.
