The choice that is being forced on people in many parts of the country is this: we won’t test widely, and you have to decide if your paycheck is worth the risk of getting infected with one of the least understood and most dangerous viruses in 100 years. Because once we “open” you either go back to work or you starve. As it has been since the beginning, we are on our own in this and the only people republicans care about are the rich.

So if I decided to go to North Dakota tribal lands to protest the pipeline I’ll get shot with rubber bullets, gassed, and then likely arrested. However, if I storm the Michigan capital with an assault rifle, yell in the face of police and essentially put everyone around me and their loved ones in danger... nothing happens except the POTUS says I am a good person that should be able to negotiate directly with Governor Whitmer....

I've seen a few of those on Twitter and they are brutal. I would argue with them though on the first point China did suppress info on the new virus but everything else is fair.

So I have been getting groceries for some of my neighbors when I do my Kroger pickups. Most of them are late 60s + and have been here since their houses were built. My next door neighbors, he's a retired engineer from Ford, she taught though I'm not sure in what capacity. Spartans. Great people. 3 daughters, around our age and I have gleaned from the wife who is on FB with the daughters that my neighbors are conservative politically (daughters not so much). It has never come up in conversation with them. Today I told him that Kroger didn't have some things, including the strawberries they ordered and the shrimp I was trying to get to make gumbo. I started looking around and was able to get an Instacart delivery slot for Tuesday from H Mart for the shrimp. I said they have strawberries, too, do you want me to get them? He said yes. He texts me back a few minutes later and says where is H Mart? I said it's an Asian chain grocery store over by Aldi. He writes me back and says forget the strawberries, they are going to Costco in a few days. I found that odd. Is this already a thing? Am I on my jump to conclusions mat?

Boy, that's a tough call WBH. One the one hand, Costco strawberries are always pretty awesome and if he's actually going to Costco, ask him to get your shrimp lol. On the other hand, you might be hitting the nail on the head. Either way, I wouldn't feel bad if you didn't ever pick up their groceries again.

Or is it that you can't handle facts other than those that you pick and choose which to believe? It seems that truth is the complication that you don't like. The irony is astounding.

Regardless, I didn't say anything about the mainstream media. You don't need them to when looking at facts and considering the context. You just need intellectual honesty.
