Nah, it's mostly the wife. She's got all the talent I'm just cutting and pinning and honestly we are nothing...those health care workers are fucking heroes. I only post the template there if anyone else wants to make them. You got any one in your circle that is into sewing that's the design we've found they like based on feedback. If anyone gets additional feedback on what works better send it my way.

Good read here. I don't know if it's on one of the previous pages. This guy from Texas Tech is a pandemic expert that says we're going to have to go through five stages of this. We missed the first one which would have severely lessened our problem. (had they read the swill, they'd have learned of my alarm back in January). He says we're now in stage two. Stage three is this summer. But a caution here, you read this and I don't see how we have fall sports.

What if within the next 2 months, through clinical trials that are already ongoing, we discover that one of the drugs that are being used currently for treatments, helps? We don't know the current mortality rate of the virus, but let's say it's .7 - 1.0%. What if treatment using this drug cuts that to .2% and that this drug is widely available? And that Pfizer and the FDA is projecting that they will have a vaccine through clinical trials and approved by Jan 21? Would you be ok 'risking' getting the virus by sitting next to someone in Spartan Stadium?

I'm 58, will be 59 on blood pressure meds.  I'm going to say it would kill me, but I'm not going in.   I'd hold off for a year.  Hell, I'm having problems working out how the fuck I"m going to to road tests in cars with people.  Motorcycle tests no problem.  I'm standing in a parking lot.   I'll definitely have a plethora of masks.  I have two other testers who are young and want to keep doing them (their call) have a third tester who has had a bout with cancer and is 64.  He's nervous.

Would I? Yes. Would I want my parents there, probably not

Could be my dream of a student section only stadium (although it was basketball since football couldn't fill the stadium and basketball I thought would be cool to have a throwback Jenison game)

That has been my philosophy from the start. Treatment options will improve making it less risky if you contract the virus.

I can see sports opening back up, but no fans being allowed under this scenario. I can't where large gatherings will be allowed (sporting events, concerts, festivals, etc.) until there is a vaccine in place. That just seems silly under any other scenario. While I don't see myself in Spartan Stadium next year, I can see a scenario where sports start to resume in the fall/winter.

I'm very leery of the recent talk of condensing timelines on a vaccine. It is not the development that is the issue, but the testing of long term side effects and covering every scenario. You can't just just shave off time without making assumptions on side effects. Maybe we won't have a choice and will have to take the risk. But then you are starting to dip into the anti-vaxxer territory.

2018 death rate was .0096 which equaled 34,200 deaths. At .02 it would have been over 700,000. At .1 it would have been 3,550,000.

Hold your horses. Never have I compared this to the seasonal flu. I am simply laying out a hypothetical. And the statistic I was quoting regarding the seasonal annual flu was from Fauci. Maybe he's wrong, not sure, but I was using .1% as my baseline in the hypothetical.

I didn’t say anything about Donald Trump. I’m saying this is not the flu and we have to stop thinking about it like the flu.

Hatch I just used decimals for easier math, they’re the same numbers essentially as Fauci.

From .1% to .2% is still a gigantic difference in deaths if we’re talking about 355 million infections which was the number of flu infections in 2018. That’s what I’m getting at. 700K deaths not worth football. And the unpredictability of this virus compared to the seasonal flu means even if these “new treatments” were being used, it would likely be more.
