There’s no order here but a used / surplus building supply store in my town has a mask policy. They have a prominent sign out front and the lady running the place was not having people ignoring it. I was there Saturday and a guy came in without a mask. She told him he needed one and he just stood there and stared at her then goes “can I do this?” and puts his hand over his mouth. She says no and he starts arguing with her when older lady and her husband start ripping into him saying “it’s to protect other people” and “be courteous.” He left. I was proud of them.

I saw this earlier this morning (among other things) in the news. Man people are really nutso about this stay at home thing. We already knew that there was a vocal minority decrying the tyranny and loss of their freedom, but regular ol' people are just losing it now and desperate to get back to "normal" activities. I don't get it personally but hey, as long as they're trying to be responsible, that's ok I guess. Yesterday my SIL told my wife she "thinks this thing is over" and was going to get her hair done. She later admitted that she "totally knows that it's not over but it's better and more fun for me if I pretend that it is".

They opened 12 Oaks Mall in Novi today, look at these pictures! People are this desperate for Lord & Taylor and Cinnabon??!

My brother is off the vent! I think it was a total of 54 days on the vent. He still has the trach though. It looks like they will be discharging him, and he's going to Mary Free Bed in GGR. He's had 2 negative covid tests the past week as well. He has learned to walk again, and he can take a few steps without a walker. He passed the swallow test, and had applesauce and a glass of water for the first time. He said it was the most amazing thing ever.

Fantastic news!!!!!! Wow, that made my day. Incredible that it was 54 days on the vent.

Great to hear Dendro. It must be a huge load off everyone’s minds. Long road ahead but wow. It’s crazy what this virus can do to a body.

Great news for your family Dendro.  

Given how long it took to get off the ventilator and how long he was in the hospital before being released to a rehabilitation hospital, it’s a good thing he was in very good shape when he got infected.

That’s pretty much the only reason he survived. I really didn’t think he was going to make it for the longest time. He’s lost 50 pounds, and his legs are sticks. He said he would have no problem working on getting the 50 pounds back on

I can’t wait to punch him for making me worry about him. And having to talk to our mom once or twice a day/every day.

Brother, sister and nephew all doing well. Each had a very shitty 3 weeks but are now out of quarantine. My sister has some lingering respiratory issues but hoping they will go away soon. Thanks for asking.

Too funny. When I called my mother it was pretty much about 45 minutes of just listening. She would run down what each kid, grandkid, friend etc was doing to the minute. Let's just say she had the gift of gab.
