Pay the man!

Yeah I bought these on DVD back when they first ran. No way I’m watching them on Netflix.

And I watched season 3 but didn’t buy it. It did however have one of the best sketches ever and that would be the Supersize me sketch.

I would like to know how much his contract with Comedy Central was worth and how much he was actually paid.  Comedy Central claims he walked away from a $50 million dollar contract (which I have a hard time believing) he is obviously saying he got paid much much less.

I fully understand his point - but if he was paid millions it does not strike me as unfair or wrong.  

Netflix has paid him in the range of $60 million for his new shows (they also said they would not air the old show).  It seems more about the principal with him.

Unless or until someone produces legal documents, I’ll believe neither, thinking one side is overstating facts while the other side understates them.

So I have all the sympathy for minority groups getting equal treatment... but this Chappelle thing is fucking stupid.

Especially since "the joke" was funny as hell.

I am ambivalent on the new one. I think he’s evolving which is all anyone can ask someone to do. And I think he knows some of his previous shit wasn’t funny. I’m glad we get to watch because it’s fascinating.

He's right, Hannah Gadsby is not funny. She's a triggered double minority and he is only a single minority so her voice is louder...

he sure is getting the attention that he seems to desperately want. guess it's working.

His latest special is one hour long. It starts with material about gay people and moves on to wage his own little war against transphobia. Talented comedian without a doubt, I also support Netflix's right to put the special out there but I side with the LGBTQ community on their grievances over this latest show. Also, his last 15 minutes about Daphne seems gross and self serving.

not at all familiar with him or his work. Seems like a good thing. I prefer to do more productive things with my time.

So I used to love watching comedians. Lately, I’ve hit walls 15 minutes in or so. Is it me? Lack of patience? CTE? ADD? I cant watch a whole show.

Funny you mention that. The last couple of times I’ve been doing yard work, I’ve listened to comedians on my phone. Eddie Izzard and Don Rickles. I have zero interest in sitting down to watch them, but it’s good listening while doing other things. Man, a lot of Rickles material wouldn’t fly at all today, but the rest of his stuff is just funny AF.

someone threw a show or two on in the background as we were ending the night a few weeks ago and either the show was 1) not funny 2) an angry male ranting about society today

yawn.. i like comedy but the angry male types why doesn't everyone think like me just don't do it for me. played.
