The more I think about it, though, the more I think the Freep article wasn't being serious. If they were, they would know that there is only one option:

I've always felt that Lansing and Grand Rapids were the gateways to the north. Shit gets rustic once you are north of either of them.

Perry has a pretty good BBQ place and a passable Chinese joint too....

I'll bring a cheese dip and a couple cases of beer, because it wouldn't be polite to show up to your friend's house empty handed. We're going to need a bar, or at least a restaurant that serves alcohol, as our official headquarters. We can't make important decisions on an empty stomach - I get angry when I'm hungry. Someone in the Perry area might need to do some recon. I'm sure any establishment would be honored to have us - it is a real honor to be the braintrust for the new seat of power.
