20 most friendly/hostile fan bases in America. Hmmm I don't know

First of all, OSU not being in the top 20 hostile is bullshit. They are the worst fan base to ever watch a game around. They throw shit at you, they argue with you randomly at games if you're cheering your team during the contest. But, here it is.

Frankly, this is spot on. I can't tell you how many times I've left UofM's hole, or Wisconsin's, or Indiana, or wherever, and I had friends with me who happened to be sitting in other sections during the game. Always, it seems you have different experiences depending on section, drunkenness of fans, opposing team winning or losing. It's hard to quantify this poll. I'll never go back into Ann Arbor again for a game. Last one I enjoyed a victory and was accosted while tryig to take a picture of my kid with the PB trophy on the field after the game and my wife and sister were with me. Three old people being told to go to hell by loser fans who thought they shoule have won that game. it is what it is.

I don’t know how to describe them in a word or two. It’s the fan whose entire identity is tied to a school. They often have no work or study affiliation with the school, or any other school for that matter. Yet they define themselves first and foremost by their love for and loyalty to the school. Being a fan consumes them in a really unhealthy way. The more of those fans a fanbase has, the more it is perceived as obnoxious and unfriendly. Probably because they take winning and losing incredibly personally since the school defines so much of who they are.

I’ve seen MSU fans be just as big of assholes to opposing fans as I’ve seen opposing fans be assholes.
