He is retired military, lawyer, and writer for a silly conservative media outlet. He has over 330k followers on Twitter, so he has a sizable reach and is not just some run of the mill Trump supporter. He has a blue check mark, so at least one Swill poster thinks he is a great.

Yet the result is pretty much the same. A dictator with a government that controls everything.

Except fascism makes the case for sustained totalitarianism, and communism makes the case for a period of central planning - the "dictatorship of the proletariat" - with the eventual goal being the actual dissolution of the state. In practice, maybe that becomes a pointless distinction and communism's end point is totalitarianism.

Although totalitarian, fascism is more skeptical of capitalism than outright opposed like communists. Fascism sees capitalism as promoting individualism at the expense of national values, thus dangerous. However, fascism sees room for a kind of supervised private industry run by and for the nation. I believe the Nazis even privatized some nationalized industries.
