Michigan State basketball is reportedly in a ‘really nice spot’ with four-star small forward Devin Royal from Ohio, according to a Rivals recruiting expert.

With the 2022 recruiting class officially in the rearview mirror and the 2022-23 season on the horizon, Tom Izzo has his sights set on the 2023 class with a couple of top prospects left on his Michigan State basketball big board.

One of them is obviously five-star big man Xavier Booker who many believe is a top-five prospect in the nation for the class and the other is four-star wing Devin Royal from Pickerington, Ohio.

If Fears opts not to take the minimum $100,000 salary that Overtime offers, he would still be eligible to play college basketball beginning in 2023. Naas Cunningham, the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2024 from New Jersey, was the first player to choose that option. He will join Overtime next season but will not take a salary. Turtleneck tried to step into the booker recruitment in the last week to try to disrupt the flow. I can’t fathom why he would do this but the important thing is that Xavier’s commitment to the university and, really, to me personally was far too great for such a late effort to overcome. Don’t let turtleneck tank out chances with other croots the way he tried to do here

Whether or not it was Turtleneck’s doing, things got off the rails for a short time, but you were smart enough to check your ego at the door and ask for help. I was happy to provide it.
