They should have set up more cameras. Like one inside the box looking down and maybe a couple outside showing when they takeoff and land.

Well, she just went down for a nap, so it’s my turn to watch her. As for cheap cameras, my point is it’s a student club. They don’t get much money and shouldn’t be expected to buy everything out of their own pocket. If it isn’t expensive like you say, pony up the dollars and you might be able to get what you want out of the viewing experience.

At 500 bucks a credit hour the cameras should be free to students for valid research purposes.

I haven't seen the nest empty in at least two days. So mom had just been sitting there all this time as far as I know. She must be getting hungry. I haven't seen papa at all. You think he'd drop in some fresh field mice or voles.

She has to keep those eggs warn, I would think her mate would bring food, or trade off on sitting on the eggs.

She just stood up and walked around and maybe my eyes are deceiving me but I think I saw four eggs in there now.

I just looked it up, 3-4 is typical. Four for a Spartan.

It looks like we have a fourth egg.

FWIW, I saw them switch out yesterday.  He came, she left the nest and he sat on the eggs (could be the other way around - I have difficulty telling them apart).  Most of the time you do not see them switch on camera, one leaves to hunt and the other comes to sit on the eggs.  They can see their mate and they leave, it is just not on camera.

Sent an email to MSU Fisheries and Wildlife Club via the only address I found (michstatefishingclub@gmail.com) inviting them to join us to add more detail on the project. They've got facebook and twitter accounts, but I don't do those.
