Seems like lots of Spartans enjoy this game.... Would there be any interest in joining a "SpartansWill" clan?

Thanks! I lurked for a over a decade on the RCMB (actually back to '97/98)... Never really posted much....

What happened to faxanadu, or whatever his name was? I don't see him in there now, and notice we've got a couple of new people.

I'm in. I'm just in a random clan right now and nobody ever donates troops or anything. Currently level 45 and working on a level 7 town center.

Fax is Jarack's uncle, but Jarack gave him the boot yesterday. Difficult but really was needed if Fax wasn't going to be active.

Right now I'm very content with the current clan - very active and working well together. Have eliminated some of the inactives in the last couple of days. I think it would be best to incorporate the new recruits into the existing one as we have attrition. Looks like ROtown Sparty is the only definite new recruit at the moment.

Hideho. Finally made it over to check out the Swill. This last clan war worked great IMO. Hope it doesn't breakup but if you do splinter hope you will let a scrub like me in.

We should have 3 - 4 openings this afternoon.  Would love to have some members of the Swill!!!

Zapp, Phil McCrackin, Gob Bluth, Green Wine and others are all in the 'Clan'

It's a great clan MJ. 3.5 hours left in the current war and we used 94 out of 100 battles. Impressive. It's actually hard to donate sometimes as clans members donate so fast.

Sent an invite request to try to get in after the war is over, but I just got flat out denied.

I have some questions:

1)How can you be good at this game without paying for it? seems it's impossible to get started without investing some cash to accelerate
2) about how much time do you spend playing per day
3) is it as awesome as my little greek cousin tells me? He says it's great, for reference

1) Patience and lots of attacking. I haven't spent a dime.

3) Quite fun - we have a kick-ass clan going.

1. Don't need to spend a dollar. I did spend $10 since I screwed up in the tutorial and wasted a lot of gems early on before I understood to save them. Needed some gems for additional builder, which you can only get with gems.

2. Too much; but you can stop in for two minutes, and only a few times a day. Great time waster while sitting on the throne. Great to play while the wife has some crap on T.V. after the kids are in bed.

3. Awesome; especially with a great clan. Crazy addictive.

Yeah I haven't spent a dime either. You can spend as much or as little time as you want on it. At first I wasn't really attacking very much, I'd just check in a couple times a day and collect my resources and put my builders to work.

Just to pile on, I haven't spent any money on the game (yet).

Getting started was a little slow, but be patient. It took a few days before I felt like I was getting anywhere, but once it got rolling I was hooked. I initially resisted doing the whole clan thing. I figured I'd just roll through the single player portion of the game and be done with it, but I quickly realized that being in a good clan is critical to the game.

I spend too much time playing it, to be honest. It's a good game to waste time when I'm sitting on the bus, or as someone above noted when the wife is watching some crap on TV or whatever. Definitely not the most productive way to spend my time, but everyone needs to check out every now and then.

I love our clan. I am probably one of the lower guys, but I do what I can until I ascend up the ladder. As for money, I spent the $10 for gems to get 4 builders. Other than that, you probably wont need to spend any money.

Be careful though, this game can affect your job and relationships. Very addictive.

Just joined here as well, and am in the MSUSpartans clan (BenJax). The more the merrier when it comes to Spartans IMO

The war starts in 4 hours.  I'm just attacking once to get them some stars then leaving.  Since it's already prep day I count as one of the participants still if I leave now.  Had a few guys do that already and it screwed us.  Don't want to be that guy.  Joining your clan immediately after I attack.
