Here's an interesting thread about our non-rival commenting in length on a game they don't care about.

I saw that. Pretty entertaining, but not as much as it was 2-3 years ago. It's really predictable and repetitive now.

Some of them want to ignore us and some think we're important because of the rivalry. It's their version of SB vs DE. Except theyve been doing it for 7 years now.

What did they have to say about the following:

Flozell?
Coach D's Rose Bowl ring?
Sparty being a more effective RB than any on their current roster?

Yes. It's interesting reading an RCMB-esque thread from their viewpoint. One thing that really stands out is that the people who bitch about rivalry talk are way more annoying than the people who bring it up. They sound much more insecure as far as fandom goes. What contribution is there in logging in just to say you don't care about something?

Were still little brother I guess. How are we insufferable? Their mouth breathing fan base have run their mouths far too long. Don't they realize the whole country hates them? Even if we beat them 100 times in a row they will never stop. One year at a time.

The narrative and mindset is constantly evolving. In terms of how they view MSU under MD, it went something like dismissive to annoyed to concerned and now to acceptance. Except that "acceptance" of MSU being the better program of course has to have a caveat: that no matter how much better we are, we are still Little Brother.

Hey, meaningless labels are what they want to hang their hats on, that's cool. I guess I'll settle for the wins on the field.

There was a thread of posts where the OP was envious that MSU actually ran a real game (as opposed to a glorified practice) for their spring game, promoted it, and acted fan friendly about it. Of course the first response was that MSU has so few fans that they have to be nice to them.

That is a courtesy Brandon doesn't need follow as long as you throw out a few 'we're Michigan" and "Ohio" cliches followed closely by raising prices and selling out another sponsorship.

Did you read how there are still out recruiting us? They have that going for them. winning on the field doesn't matter, its getting the better players!   

I loved the parts where they would be like: They are beating us on the field, but they ARE NOT OUTRECRUITING US!!!!!! Like it was more important or some shit

I cracked up at that, too. "Sure they may be beating us on the field but we are winning the nebulous, highly open to both debate and interpretation, battle of recruiting."

The other one that cracked me up was the guy who argued we aren't really that great defensively because our defensive players aren't doing anything special in the NFL. Hey, dumbshit, that's the worse option because it means the magic lies with the coaching staff in East Lansing and not with some group of highly talented players who will move on after a few years.

The funniest part of all of it is that most of them have no knowledge of our roster.

Our defensive backfield is going to be a mess.
We are screwed if Langford gets hurt (you know, the superstar that none of them knew existed this time last year)
Our DL is Calhoun and a bunch of average players.
We lost EVERYTHING on the OL.
Our TEs can't block at all (which is hilarious coming from them)

That's what makes beating their ass even more fun. They literally have no idea it's going to happen because they are so fucking stupid.

5. Winning
