Who is he? A 6'8, 203-pound wing from Detroit
Where's he ranked? No. 3 by ESPN, No. 1 by 247 Sports' national composite
Who is he considering? Arizona, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan State and five others.
The pick: This one feels totally up in the air. It wouldn't surprise recruiting insiders to see Jackson skip college altogether to play pro ball overseas, though he has insisted he won't do that. Given the connection with USA U19 coach Sean Miller, we'll go with Arizona.

6. Miles Bridges

Who is he? A 6'7, 230-pound forward from Flint, Mich.
Where's he ranked? No. 7 according to ESPN, No. 18 per 247 Sports' national composite.
Who is he considering? Michigan State, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, North Carolina
The pick: Michigan State. Kentucky will be tempting, but when Draymond Green has Steph Curry Face Time'ing you from the championship locker room, we have to give the Spartans a slight edge.

Miles Bridges isn't returning to Flint for his senior season and multiple reports have both Izzo and Calipari court side for all of Bridges games at at least one tournament. Several think Calipari / UK have the inside track. If Izzo is still chasing it means he still thinks there's a chance.

If Bridges doesn't send his LOI to MSU on the early signing date Nov 11 '15 he's going to be playing for UK.

Izzo was also reported to have watched multiple other recruits during his time in Las Vegas. Included in that group is 2016 guard commit Joshua Langford, who Rivals called one of its top performers from Friday.

"Physically, there aren't many guards in the high school ranks that look like Langford," analyst Dan McDonald wrote. "He's strong as they come and a very good athlete. All that combined with a great skill-set and a motor that never stops makes for an elite prospect. Tom Izzo will be a very happy man coaching him at the next level."

EAST LANSING -- As Josh Jackson inches closer to a college decision, Michigan State appears to still be in the mix for the services of one of the top players in the country.
Jackson, ranked the No. 1 recruit in 2016 by the 247sports composite, has visited Michigan State and counts the Spartans among the top five schools working hardest for his services, according to a Friday report from Sny.tv.
The website, quoting Jackson's mother, Apple Jones, reports that Michigan State is one of two schools Jackson has visited, along with Arizona. It did not report a date for the visit.
"Michigan State was good," Jones said. "Coach [Tom] Izzo. I think he's a good coach. He cares about the kids and playing in his system. Those kids seem to develop."

Winston shifts top choices

Fielding 14 offers, according to 247Sports.com, Winston listed Michigan, Michigan State, Marquette, Iowa State and Pittsburgh as his top five in April.

Currently, however, Winston's top schools have changed. Luckily for Wolverines and Spartans fans, Michigan and Michigan State join Stanford and Pitt as his top four schools at the moment.

Where Jackson was especially impressive was on the defensive end. Even though it was an all-star setting and simply a practice, Jackson was locked in on the defensive end and made life extremely difficult for whoever was going against him on offense. No more than once or twice did Jackson’s man get a clean look, let alone get a bucket.

An elite athlete, Jackson was getting to the rim virtually at will, and also as usual was showing off his tremendous ability to pass the basketball.

Cassius Winston took another official visit over the weekend as he traveled to Pittsburgh, and he’s also made some adjustments to his fall calendar.

Winston will visit Michigan State next weekend for the Spartans’ football game against Oregon.

Reports surfaced early on Monday that Winston would then move his Michigan official visit to September 26th rather than the originally scheduled September 19th date, but even those plans appear to be uncertain.

MLive’s Brendan Quinn reports that Winston is unsure if and when he will take an official visit to Michigan.

Now Winston says he’s not sure when he’s visiting Michigan.

Asked if he definitely still plans on taking an official to U-M, he replied, “I don’t know yet.”

Winston is expected to decide between Michigan, Michigan State, Pittsburgh and Stanford before the start of his high school season. He has been the top point guard target on Michigan’s recruiting board for the majority of the last two years.

Analyst: MSU now favorite to net Cassius Winston

Michigan State already has a good start on the 2016 class. Five-star wing Josh Langford is ranked No. 19 by 247sports.com and big man Nick Ward is a four-star rated No. 42.


Getting Winston could put the Spartans in good shape to land his AAU teammate Bridges, the 12th-ranked player in the nation who plays now at Huntington (W. Va.) Prep.

If the Spartans get both, they'll have a guaranteed top-five class, Snow says. Getting just one probably still lands them in the top 10.

But getting one does not guarantee getting the other.
