Door to door bible thumpers?

I'm all for letting everyone live as they want to but why do you have to come by my house and try and bring your religion to me. If I want to discuss your religion I'm sure I can find you. Leave me the fuck alone you crazy fuckers.

Im more annoyed with people that walk up to you when on vacation in a big city. Last time I was in San Diego someone asked me about taco bell and kfc using paper from south america rain forests or some carp. I just laughed and said not to bother me im on vacation.

I hate anyone that goes door to door. There's some dude that drives around in a Ford Rangers with a cube freezer selling meat door to door. I will be outside washing the cars on the weekend and he will just pull up and start trying to sell me steak and seafood.

Had a kid show up once under the guise of selling discount books. It was his hook to get people disarmed. Once he had me talking he pulled a Jesus book from the bottom of the stack that he would let me have for free and started in about my eternal salvation.

I told he I was very comfortable with my beliefs and why (pantheistic deist agnosticism best sums it up) and used that angle to call into question his beliefs. When I had him sufficiently off script that he couldn't answer my questions or defend his beliefs (and this wasn't aggressive, it was a neighborly discussion) he decided he was going to bail. He started to walk away and I called him back. I told him it was deceitful to engage in prostelization under the guise of selling books and that is he was confident in his beliefs that wouldn't be necessary. I didn't see him stop at any more houses on his way off the block.

I had some Jehovah's Witnesses come to the door about a week before Christmas and I opened it for some reason. Listened for awhile. Blah, blah, blah. Then I wished them a Merry Christmas...which was ironic (or maybe just mean) because I don't think they celebrate Christmas.

I don't answer the door if I'm not expecting anybody and I don't answer the phone from a number I don't recognize. Literally takes 0 seconds.

Door to door sales, junk mail and pan handlers are all slightly annoying if you acknowledge it. The only answer to give, if you give one at all, is "No.". Say no more, acknowledge no more. If they don't respect your answer, fuck 'em.

Ignore it, and you'll be fine. The reason they do it is because it works. Maybe only at a 1% rate, but it works enough for them to keep doing it.

I reverse the the popular statement and ask, "are you here for the gangbang?"

There's a lady in the neighborhood who joined the Jehova's Witnesses after talking to them at her doorstep. Said they just "got her." I feel bad for her kids because they don't get to celebrate Christmas anymore.

Well, as a UM grad I'm sure you're a soldier in the war on Christmas.

I haven't had one come to my house in a while but I used to just say I was jewish. It seemed to do the trick.
