What do you guys think of this Bernie Sanders guy?

Seems to be makin' some waves in this bitch. It's intriguing ..

If we were ever going to have a commie running the country he'd be my pick.

I'll give the guy this, he's one of the few politicians that hasn't somehow (wink, wink) gotten rich while in office.

Do not want. I'm way more conservative than most of my friends though and a lot of people like him.

Bernie's voting record

I've heard about him for years. I like him. Cracks me up that he won the election for mayor of Vermont running as (I think?) a Communist -- maybe socialist, whatever. And then he won the populace over, and has basically owned the state since.

He hasn't got a prayer of beating Hillary, though, or winning the general election.

Yeah, feel free to bump this post whenever he does either.

I think the election is still 16 months away.

Does anyone else think it's kind of weird that we spend literally half of our time as a country in some step of the process of electing a president? The whole thing starts roughly two years out, then two years of not dealing with that for a minute, then right back to it.

Doesn't have a chance in hell of winning. Were I to actually vote, I'd pick him though. Anybody that doesn't just fall right into the party line of that red gang or blue gang and actually has his own thoughts instead of the same talking points is already halfway there for me, anyway. Independent thought, ain't it grand.

It's been good for stockholders (ie, rich people).

The poor and middle class have been marginalized even more than they were...but that's by design...keep them from providing for themselves, make them totally reliant on the government for basic needs, and a certain political party has very, very loyal voters.

But, the plan worked.

When the deficit goes from $10T to $17T in 5 years, and the percentage of workers is literally the lowest in history (ie, no taxes coming in), inflation is inevitable. Not that this administration has ever planned to do anything other than give handouts, and let some later administration figure out how to pay for it.

It is good entertainment, though. Election season is my favorite reality tv show season.

Donald Trump loves Donald Trump. I figure he's in the race to make money. I think he figures to profit from the exposure regardless of whether he wins or not, and if he pulls it off and somehow gets elected, he'll make sure that his empire will benefit.

I expect it to be very entertaining and I'll be very disappointed if he caves to pc Nazi pressure in order to get more votes. I want to see a fucking train wreck that obliterates the pc Nazis. Also, I think his business interests will still give money to his opponent's campaigns. After all, he still needs to purchase influence and business is business. I think the potential entertainment value alone is worth Trump entering the race.

Can you imagine being a Democrat politician who wins their election and received donations from Trump who also won becomes president? Talk about bi-partisan support! I don't know if that's legal or not, but it's fun to think about the possibilities for absolute and total corruption on a scale that makes the current set of corrupt politicians look like amateurs.

left-leaning Democrats (real Democrats... not Hillary, Obama, etc) value the environment, demonstrate a concern for the ever-increasing income/wealth gap in America, like the idea of getting corporate money out of politics, advocates for affordable healthcare for all Americans (though Obamacare is a step in the right direction, it still pads the pockets of the insurance companies - I'm in favor of a single-payer system, always have been), and are very reluctant to get ourselves involved in foreign conflicts.

All of that said, it's not going to matter - because the corporations will make certain that Sanders stands no chance - because of what I outlined above.

So why not support Jill Stein?

Crazy thing is, I didn't vote for Obama in the Michigan primary years ago, I voted for Hillary, as I recall - mainly because Dennis Kucinich had already dropped out of the race.
