whiskey drinkers I need your help
I have a wedding coming up soon and they are both very into whiskey/scotch. I would like to get them something really good that they crack out for special occasions. Willing to spend between 150-200. Unfortunately I know jack shit about the stuff so please send some ideas.

I honestly don't know of a whiskey in that price range. I don't drink scotch, I like bourbon. I'd tell you Pappy Van Winkle but you're not going to find that.

Galliano Yellow. A rare and exotic whisky.
They'll love it.

Get a bourbon
The only burb that is going to cost over 100 bills that every WBH (love you roary) is going to tell you to get is Pappy (I've never had it and you will never find it). Some other high ends that are worth their corn...
Basil Hayden
Blanton's (same distillery as Pappy)
Not going to have the cool guy price tag but >$50 bottles that I would love as wedding gifts...
Templeton Rye (puriest will berate this one, but it is sweet good)
Mitcher's American Whiskey
Bulliet 10 yr
High West
If you reallllllllly want to do a Scotch because they are into it (scotch is awful IMO, but to each is there own)...
Balvenie 15 yr

Pretty sure I've had BH and Blanton's. Honestly I think the best/fave bourbon I've ever tried is Eagle Rare Reserve and it's like $32. I'd probably pay the price to try Pappy just because of the hype but honestly it would probably taste the same as Makers to me.
Buy them a plane ticket to Louisville and a night at a Holiday Inn and tell them to figure it out on their own.

Eagle Rare is solid. Same distillery as Pappy, Blanton's and Buffalo Trace. Definitely a good burb. But not my fav.... I love Buffalo Trace, which is a budget burb. More flavor than Eagle Rare IMO... but that is the beauty of burb... they all taste and everyone will like something different... try them all.

I also like Beer Barrel Bourbon. Michigan brew. It's not high end, but different. I like bourbs with some flavor/whiskey punch over smooth (woodford and beam).
Gentleman's Jack is has flavor, but I don't like the sour mash (others do).
